Wow! I'm amazed at how my life has changed in such a short time. I was 360 at the beginning of this journey. Today I'm at 298. I know I have a long way to go. I'm enjoying the ride so far. I chose to share my journey with the people in my life. Now I'm so happy I did. I work in an office with a call center and now, a day does not go by without someone congratulating me on my progress. It's a real motivator--keeps me on track. I've had one fill of 5cc's in a 14cc band. Not feeling any restriction to speak of. I think, if I tried to, I could eat a lot more than I do at a sitting. I am just trying to protect my band at this point. I don't want to overdo it and stretch my stomach.

I do worry about eating too fast, though. I struggle with that one. Mind you, I don't wolf down my food by any means, but I do have a hard time waiting 10 minutes between bites. I'd appreciate any advice on that one. What works for you might work for me.

I guess that's it for now...I'm drinking a celebratory Latte (soy with 2 Splendas). First coffee since September...mmmmmmm :)

if your blender has a puree cycle us that sucker,,,if it sounds nasty just think about what we used to frrd our kids..we would chew our food for our little ones,,YUCK...

but it worked...you can ground up anything,or make some potatoe patties...or something to use in your blender,,hey .....thats what that thing is for........lol

or better yet go out and buy some baby food,,,,1st,2nd,3rd stages and season it ...it is just adult food cooked longer and minced down for our little ones to eat...

GOOD IDEA HA....check it out you may like it...camille01

You wait 10 minutes inbetween bites??? I don't think you need 10 minutes at all...it should take you a maximum of 30 minutes to eat a meal so that would mean you would only get 3 bites?? I take a bite, set the spoon/fork down, chew (many times) my food, swallow and then pick my utensil back up and then repeat the process. This may take a couple minutes per bit but not 10. When I first got banded it did take me longer than 30 minutes to eat but then I found out that the longer I allowed myself to eat the more food I ate and then I started asking nutritionist and doctors they said the same thing.. It would be like eating 2 meals if you took an hour to eat..your band will process it so you need to finish your meal within 30 minutes.

I am with Marnetta with the puree...when I had to puree foods..I put anything and everything into the blender even if I had to wear I blindfold to eat it. It all goes into out bellies and mixes up so why not mix it up before hand..it all tasted the same so that made me happy and I got to eat what I wanted.

Take care!!

Congrats on making it into the 200's! Isn't that an awesome feeling? I too have to eat extremely slow. I have gotten sick eating too fast. Good luck as you continue on your journey!
