3rd Fill

So I saw my surgeon today. He gave me another fill. This time only 1cc for a total of 5cc's. I told him of my frustrations. With all the exercise I do, and how I know I'm not eating no where how much I used too or as frequent, how is I'm not losing more weight? He said that I'm doing well, I've lost 30lbs, and reminded me that if it wasn't for the band, where would i be? I thought about it and agreed. He encouraged me to have more patience and to keep doing what i'm doing. They also took blood work to see where my protein levels are and my vitamin D and we'll go from there. I am proud to report my pressure is down a lot! Hopefully when I follow up with my primary care physician, i can be taken off of blood pressure pills all together.

What about you? Did your weight come off fast or slow? How soon after where your medications altered or eliminated?

Mine seems to be going slow. I have lost about 30 pounds since my journey began (preop). I have only lost about 10 pounds in the 3 months I have had the band.

I had expected the weight to just fall off when I had my surgery. But, I have to say that when I started my Journey I weighed 268. I had my surgery on June 21st of this year and am now down to 199.5 putting me into the Onderland. After speaking with my primary doctor and my surgeon, I truly believe that the best way to lose weight is to do it slow and steady. I've only had 2 fills since June, the last just last week was only 1/4cc giving me approximately 5ccs in my 14cc band.

Give your self some time - it will come off. Let's not forget it took us years to put it on, it is going to take a while to get it off.

First thing I have to say is do not compare yourself to others..everyone's body works differently!!! For some reason my body the weight is actually begging to fall off..even my doctor said that I was his best patient he has had. I averaged 13 lbs a month..only 1 month did I not lose weight and that was due to I was too tight. I lost 126 lbs in 11 months and have now lost 4 more lbs for a total of 130 lbs in 13 months without trying. I hate to say it this way but we have actually talked about that I can only lose 8 more lbs or I will be unhealthy...I can't seem to stop losing weight and I eat all the time (4-5 small meals a day). I have 5cc's in a 10cc band. It is a catch 22...everyone is different. I cook my own meals so I know what is in each meal, I average 1100-1200 calories a day and I am completely full each and every day. I work out in either the pool (summer time) or the hot tub (winter). I wish you the very best! Oh, one final thing..maintain a positive attitude..whenever I was down I would gain a pound that day!!..seriously a true statement!!
