So sometimes when I eat I get a horrible pain in the left side of my eck. It feels like the muscle on the left side is twisted or tight. It goes a way when I am not eating. It doesn't matter what I am eating. It sometimes happens when I drink too. Anyone else have this happen? I haven't contacted my Doc yet, thought I may get some answers here first. Thanks! Kandy

I was told that, that is an indicator that you are full or too full. It was worse right after I was banded now it only happens when I eat too much.

More likely it's gas pain. How far out from surgery are you? During surgery they fill you with air so that they can see and access you well. The excess air takes a bit of time to completely pass. The air presses against you gall bladder (I think) and that's what send the pain into the shoulder. The more you walk, the better it get's. Try walking when you experience the pain.

I had it terrible at about day 4 post surgery till about 5 - 6 weeks out. I still get it from time to time but now it happens, when like Crystal said, I overeat.

For me it happens if I overeat or i get stuck. It hits me in the neck, shoulder and the worst one is when it hits me in the back!. But as I learn It's getting better, I make sure not to overeat. (chips are the worst, very painful food, i see them and get scared now, so i guess it's a good thing!)

I had my surgery in March. The pain happens sometimes with my 1st drink in the morning. I will try to slow down and see if it helps. Thanks everyone!

I HAD THE SAME PAIN FOR 4=6 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY. IT HURT LIKE HELL BUT, THE SAME AS EVERYONE SAYS, IT IS WORSE IF YOU OVEREAT. SLOW DOWN AND CHEW CHEW CHEW. GOOD LUCK IT WELL ALL WORK OUT.

I HAD THE SAME THING AFTER SURGERY. FOR ABOUT 4-6 WKS AND THEN IT SLOWS DOWN. I FIND IF I OVEREAT THEN IT'S WORSE. MY BEST ADVICE IS CHEW CHEW CHEW. THAT ALWAYS HELPS. GOOD LUCK YOU WILL BE A OLD HAND AT THIS STUFF IN NO TIME.
