Your fine. I was able to eat real food after 5 days. Its been 2 months post-op for me and I havent lost a pound, but I HAVE gained 5 ! I could scream! I dont believe you are suppose to feel like throwing up. That only happens when you eat a certain food that gets stuck or you eat too fast. Your band should be healed by now and you should be on your way. Good luck to you

I haven't thrown up at all and I was banded in Sept. I have had one fill and one thing I know for sure. The band is a tool. You have to be mindful. I discovered over the weekend that I can still eat all the Whole Foods gingerbread my heart desires...sooo I know that I have to take resposibility for what goes in my mouth. I have lost weight but the band is not an easy out! Good luck in your journey!

I was banded in July. I didn't have any food that I could not eat until my second fill. However, I did work hard to eat healthy since I want this to be successful. Now, I do have foods that do not go down as well. Also, I MUST eat a lot slower. I was able to eat anything even after my first feel. However, the second fill had me relearning a lot of stuff. I had to really slow down, take mini bites, and it takes me a long time to eat just a little bit of food. I did get sick a lot after the second fill. I do think that most of us felt hungry before the first fill, and I heard from my doctor that it is common for some people to actually gain a little weight during that six week recovery period. I now know that I don't need any more fill on my next visit here in December. I want to stay put for a while. You will find out what is right for you by working with your doctor as well.

I can eat anything too...my band isn't filled until Dec. 28th. But I don't eat like before...I haven't gained anything back but I'm stuck at 27-30 lbs lost to date. I'm not complaining since I've lost all of that in just 1 month. I noticed that I do get full quickly and I'm making a real effort to eat small portions. I couldn't believe that I can walk on the treadmill for a full 45 minutes without breathing heavy...that's a miracle! I'm little nervous too that the "honeymoon period" will be over after my 1st fill...so scared to get stuck. I almost feel like I can lose weight without a fill...the band is just the tool I needed. My doc wants to do 2.5cc in my 14cc band. Hopefully I won't have any issues! Good luck to everyone!

Not to worrie cynthia c. You should be just fine.. throwing up is not somthing you want to do. this happens when you eat to fast or eat somthing that your band does not allow. Be very carfull with throwing up because you can come Potassium deficien. And this happen to me effects of low potassium put me in the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. Low potassium has a lot of the same feelings of a heart attack, and the meds for it to bring the levels back. The pills are so huge they are like horse pills so I could only take the liquid and yuck, taste so nasty. Good luck to you..
