Still no further weight loss after 6 months...now what?

Ok, six months into this and no further weight loss. I have even put back 3 lbs from the original 10 or so lost. I definately feel I didn't research this enough (personality flaw, just jump into things). I have no restriction in food amount. The only thing I do have is recurring difficulty getting things down due mostly to not chewing enough - bad habits take a while to change. I'm miserable, my husband truly thinks I've flipped my lid and nothing fits. My ownership over the last 6 months is in not watching my food types enough and not moving my body enough so I picked up a couple of workout tapes and get exercise when/wherever it presents itself like raking leaves etc. I just feel like an ultimate failure...and 16k poorer. I have had 3 fills and was rejected for my 4th because I was having to spit food back out all the time. I am going for my 4th fill in a couple of days come hell or hi-water. If liquids are the only thing I can get down after that so be it. I'll make sure they are as healthy as possible because my psyche is in deep trouble with my lack of success. This is no ones fault but my own but I do feel the procedure was misrepresented, or at least not presented as "truly" as it should have been. It's all a sales pitch I guess...buyer beware.:smile2:

I don't know what happened with where you got your surgery but my doctors were very specific, "this is a tool and you have to use it right. That includes measuring food, taking small amounts, protein first, sugars and high fat foods last. Exercise, exercise, exercise. The band can only do so much, we have to do the rest.

I would suggest, seeing as your name is GlassIsHalfFullGirl that perhaps you are a pessimist. As a pessimist you jumped into this hoping it would work but figuring it probably wouldn't. Usually people who are pessimists subconciously sabotage themselves and making sure that their beliefs become truths. So they can say, "see I told you so." I think your eating issues might be routed in something more emotional, if you can get to a therapist and talk to them about these things, perhaps that can help you to gain perspective as to why you are having so much trouble and let you learn new ways to gain a positive control of your life.

Good luck hon. BIG HUGS

I completely understand. It has been a month for me and I have lost nothing. I always eat protein first and eat little sugar or fat. I exercise for an hour 5 days a week. I feel like Im doing what I should be doing and when I read all these posts, I get so down. I wonder why I cant lose weight too. I spent 15K on this and did my homework for a year before hand. I am an ultimate optimist and fully believed that I would be successful because of my work-outs and knowledge of nutrition. Still, I am exactly the same weight;. I have a fill in 3 weeks. I assume I will see a difference in my eating then. Im only at 1100 cals now while burning 700 in workout. I too, wish that there would have been more posts by people talking about how they didnt lose as opposed to all the posts with big numbers every week. Please keep us posted as you go thru this journey. I feel like I finally heard from someone going thru what I am.
