Hard to Keep Food Down Ater Second Fill

Okay....it has been hard to keep food down after my second fill. I tried to eat some chicken for lunch. I could eat this before. I chewed and chewed and it hurt so bad and came right back up! Yuck! So, I had a little chicken salad with it ground up real fine. I could eat and keep this down. I tried to eat some chili that I made. Again, it was difficult to keep it down. :cursing: I think I now understand why my doctor told me to take it slow and easy. I thought that just meant to slow down and chew. No, he meant you may not be able to eat some things that you could a few days ago. In fact last week I posted that I could eat anything. That has changed a lot this week. I wonder how much of this is normal. ???

I can drink things just fine. It just takes me a lot longer. How do you know when a fill is just too much? Anyone know or have advice? I was thinking of giving it a week to see how things go as I "slow things down a bit" and if I am still getting sick from eating things call my doctor.

I don't think my fills have made me as tight as you describe. I do watch chicken when I eat it though. I'd give it a week to see if it loosens up. It might be that your just swollen from the fill. The only thing my Dr. said to worry about is coughing at night (well that's not really true but it's what stuck out) he said to call for that. Keep us posted :cursing:

How much of a fill did they give you? Perhaps you are now too restricted? I've had one fill and will probably have a 2nd in a week or two, I just hope I don't have the problem you are speaking about. Please keep us posted about your condition.

It sounds like you are too restricted. If this feeling keeps up , call your Dr. office and tell them you need to have some of the fill taken out. This happen to me I had reach my sweet spot and did not know it, I had the same amount of fill as always, and I was so sick nothing stayed down. I needed to have some of my fill taken out, once that happen I felt so much better. And you do not want to keep throwing up because your Band can slip that way. All the best to you.

This is all so helpful. Thanks. Planning for my first fill next week. I have been disapointed by my weight loss (or lack there-of) and I feel like I can eat anything and certainly more than 4 oz.. I have had to really restrain myself, measure meals and chew slowly etc. Looking forward to first fill.

Hi, folks! Thanks for everything! I was finally able to keep food down this morning. I had an egg omelet. I ate it real slow and with baby bites. It worked. When I say slow....I mean it took me about 1/2 hour to eat about 1/4 to 1/2 cup. I am going to continue to eat slow and take mega small bites. I didn't use the baby spoons before...however, it is time to take them out. I quess the next few days will tell. I have decided if I get sick again, I am going to call my doctor and determine my next step. I appreciate all of the comments! Thanks!

Hi Dad, sorry I'm late in posting this. After my second fill (both of which were very aggressive), I was on liquids for a couple days. When I started eating it too me a LONG time (like 30-45 minutes) to eat 1/2 to 1 cup of food. A lot of chewing and waiting. I admit I got stuck A LOT, but I think this was learning how to eat for me more so than before. I also had to remember not to drink 30 minutes before and 45 minutes afterwards. I hope you are doing better!
