The countdown is on...Next Friday (Nov 5th) I start Optifast for 2 weeks and have my Lapband in on NOv 19th...I'm so excited...I'm putting my blinders on and going full force - Not even going to think about the 2 weeks of liquid...Just going to DO IT!

I just posted pic's of me from the past few months and will update when I have completed the Optifast (Night before surgery)...I will continue to post as I melt away.

Anyone else out there who would like to journey together I would love the company.

Congratulations! I was banded on July 21 and have so far been successful. I have not had any complications. Surgery is scary but you will do fine. I would like to journey together through this.

Hey guys, Love to share our up's and down's along the way (hope for more up's)...I actually see a light at the end of all this.

I'm sure we've all been on diet's that have worked - then failed...I worry I'm going to mess this up and gain weight. After seeing all the photo's of before /after gives me hope that the band WILL work...Kamsie01 - You're on day 5 and Dawn Fink you're on day 6...Any advice on the 2 week liquid??? The Nurse told me only 4 shakes a day and zero sugar drinks...That's it...So, I'm going from who knows how many calories a day to 900...Little scared but trying to stay positive.

What is the purpose of the liquid diet prior to surgery? My surgery date is Nov. 9th and I received my date to late to do the liquid diet. It that bad?

It's to make sugery easier and to run smooth...Having a pure liquid diet will make the liver like a dry sponge - Being overweight the liver is full and heavy like a wet sponge...Much harder for the Doctor to lift and get to your stomach...
