It has almost been a week since I had my surgery. There was quite a bit pain in the port area, more than I expected. I am still in a little pain but I was able to get a more today than any of the other days. I stood on the scale and I was 253 lbs. That is quite a bit from the 285 I started with in May of this year. I am happy I had the surgery though. I just want to feel 100% better and get back to my normal routine. I think I had a little more pain than usual because my doctor found a hernia when he was putting in the lapband. I am in good spirits now that it is done. The rest is now left up to me. It is so funny how 1 medicine cup of fluid fills me up. Everyone thinks I am starving but I am actually not. I am just as full as they are when the eat. I just eat much less. I can't wait to be in pureed foods. These liquids are boring me.

Congrats! I'm 11 days post-op & 30lbs down from where I started back in Feb. of this year. Yay us!!!! I am still a lil sore too. I didn't have a hernia but I did catch pneumonia... The worst!!! I just started walking & physical activity. It gets better. 1 more week before I return to work but I'm not looking forward to it. I almost died on liquids I was so bored. Sugar free popsicles were the highlight of my day! I'm now on pureed foods & I love it! EXCEPT constantly cleaning the blender (lol). Good luck & keep up the good work!

Oh my god!! I feel bad because I keep reading that people lose more than 15 pounds the first week after and I have only lost 10 pounds....I feel horrible, I'm swollen and still have pain probably due to the hernia repair but I keep feeling something inside me..is that normal??

Yes its normal to be able to feel it, more so in the mornings and just after youve eaten/drink, after a while you wont notice it, but in about 4 more weeks if it still feels weird talk to your doctor, they may need to adjest it, if you hve any worries always talk to your doctor, but you should be fine once you've completet healed. and 10 pounds is still a lot, remember its a process thats going to take months even years to reach your goal and maintaine it, good luck to you and be proud that youve taken the first step to the new you. :)
