Well I'm starting to introduce food into my system....pureed/mushy foods. Experiencing this before I thought "This should be eay" WRONG. I just stayed at the beach with friends and had a cup of clam chowder. Literally about 2 oz. I knew instantly this was not a good idea Instant anxiety set in....a honest to god panic attack. Heart pounding out of my chest....pacing through the house. I went for a walk, that helped temporarily. My skin feels like I have bugs crawling on me. I took 2 mg. of Xanax at the suggestion of my Doctor...

Anyone else Panic when they started eating?? Any suggestiions:scared2:

It pretty much took all day and half the night. So glad that is over with. I think just being a couple weeks out of surgery didn't help. So on op of it all I'm dealing with recovering. I will makes it! I think I overpanicked cuz of the slippage. I'm babying myelf to back to health....17 hours later, the panic talk is gone )

I am glad that you are feeling better. It is awful to get panic attacks. However, when you go through stressful times, they can come on quickly. I think for anyone who is prone to panic attacks, they just need to remember to take time for themselves each day to destress (alot easier said than done). Onward and upward to better health!

I had them when I used to fly (about 10 years ago now). I had to go see a doctor because I couldn't deal. He told me to write down 3 things on a sticky that I would tell myself when the attacks happened, and carry the sticky with me. It helped!

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Hoping you are doing better!

I know you know this, Boo, but the panic will not help (duh, right?) .. .try your best to relax as you begin to eat . .maybe even some relaxing music .. . I know from experience with acid reflux that the band does not like stress. Best wishes.
