Im back up and at em. I'm still off of work but doing well. Surgery went well and healing is going well too, my only thing is I get tired so easy. I'm trying to increase my protein to fight it. Any recommendations?

You sound like you feel exactly as I did at one week. And increasing the protein is good. Also try to increase activity - even though you're tired and it's hard to do. You'll be glad when you go back to work that you did. Besides that, still give yourself time to rest and heal. Best wishes!!

I concur. It will be two weeks this Friday for me. I started back to work on Monday. First day was rough but it has gotten better everyday. You just have to give yourself time! Good luck!

Walmart has protein shots. They aren't all bad :-). Try to walk whenever you can -- it seems to generate more energy. And rest! Sleep helps your body heal. I'm glad you are doing well; take care!

I had the same problem. I was just banded on the Sept.28th. After one week I seen my surgeon and recommended more small meals. I graduated to the mushy stage. My favorite so far is baked chicken (mini-choppered) with chicken broth or lite gravy. You must eat it in very small increments to ensure that it doesn't get stuck. But with the addition of the protein and the more frequent meals, I feel like a new person.

Today I cooked a Healthy Choice meal containing chicken and peppers and again (mini-choppered it) It was perfect.

The consistency comes out to that of tuna salad.

Don't proceed unless you consult your doctor with the mushy stage. Eat slow and be sure to wait 1/2 hr. to drink before and after eating. If you get sugar lows like I did, I sucked on sugar free mints or sugar free gum to get a boost. And drink, drink, drink in between.

Try the protein EAS drinks at Walmart too. Good Stuff. Be sure to chill it though.

Hope that helped! 15 lbs. off since surgery! Woo Hoo!

thanks guys for all the suggestions. I called my nutritionist and she recommended that I progress to the soft food stage and its helped. I'm also back to walking every day through the neighborhood for at least 30 mins. So far, so good. I'm down 12lbs from surgery so I'll take it!
