"Fill?" what do you feel?

Hi, Everyone:

I just got a very interesting question from a fellow bandster regarding my first fill last Thurs. So, I will put the question out to everyone.

I was asked what I was eating since my fill, or more specifically if since my fill was I eating differently.

My answer to this question is yes, I appear to be eating a little less than I was before - probably about as much as when I first got banded. But, I am not feeling "restricted" like other bandsters talk about. I eat very slowly and when I am no longer hungry, I stop eating. I have been consistently losing weight. I wish it was 5lbs a week, but it is always around a lb or more.

I postponed 4 times and then I decided to get my fill because I was a little hungry between meals. I have not been sick, I have not gotten anything stuck, no belching, no sliming, no stuffed feeling. I got 1cc added to my band, and that was it.

I am scheduled for another fill later this month, but I don't know if I need it. But again, I don't have a clue what a "restriction" feels like.

What are you feeling?

I feel just like you described! I didn't even do the liquids but ate very small bites and slowly and didn't have any issues - mostly due to having family over the same night as my fill.

I did notice I could eat a little more than I had been but was continuing to lose. I have a weird feeling since yesterday on my left side and am going to post that to see if anyone has any ideas... not pain, just a cramp feeling.

You look fabulous! But I can't see your green shirt pics - any idea what I am doing wrong?

I feel full after eating approximately 3/4 - 1C of food (mostly protein, some veggies or a little fruit). My first meal is around 8 am. I eat slowly and chew well and I start to feel "full" at that 3/4C mark. Lunch is around 12 and I have just started to get a little hungry. I eat 3/4 C of mostly protein here. I get a little hungry around 5 and eat 1/2 protein bar (driving). Around 7 I eat about 3/4 C of protein and veggies.

I really take care to get the protein in as I struggle with hair loss. I eat slow and steady and I don't get stuck or anything else very often. I am not hungry otherwise. I never snack or eat between meals anymore as I'm just not hungry for anything which is helping a lot. I used to move into the "high caloric intake" danger zone between October 15th and January 1st (holidays) so I'm excited about this year!

Now that I had some taken out (when I was sick), I can eat absolutely anything, but not the quantity I could eat prior to surgery. This is exactly where I want to be once I get to goal.

However, since I have a lot more to lose, I'm getting a fill on Monday. I would like to be full on the 3/4C-1C of food as I was before and not be hungry between meals.

Good luck!

First off you look absolutely fabulous!!!!!! Now to the questions...How long can you go in between meals?? If you can go 4-5 hours..then you probably do not need a fill. If you are getting full on servings of 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of food and that is keeping you full for the 4-5 hours you probably do not need a fill. If your weight loss has stalled then you DO need a fill. If you are hungry in between meals you need a fill. If you can eat bread at each meal and your meal..then you need a fill.

That is about about all I can think of right now but once again...you look fantastic!! Another thing the worse thing to do is get overfilled but keep in mind if you do you can always have it taken out and go back to where you are today. Take care and keep up the awesome work!
