You'll be amazed and how much time you have on your hands. I found time to get back into hobby's I hadn't done in years...scrapbooking and cardmaking. For me excercise became my #1 outlet. When I feel the emotions coming, I put on my walking shoes and head out the door. Whether its a short stroll or a long hike, it keeps me grounded and its a friendly reminder to myself the commitment I made to change and become healthy again. I have found great friends here to talk to when I feel like I'm losing my mind. Your gonna do great....welcome to the journey.

Welcome to LBT! You're doing things the right way...work on the head stuff every bit as much as the WL. Read everything you can and prepare yourself for all that's to come. Best wishes! -BG

I just had my surgery yesterday, so I can't tell you what I do long term, but I do this: The preop diet forces you to look at food differently. The first few days were very hard, but once I started losing weight and watching what I put in my body, I had an "aha" moment. And, trust me, I loved my food! I keep track of everything I take in on sparkpeople. com and also keep track of my fitness on there. You just key in the weight you want to be and your goal date and it lets you know how many calories you can have per day to get there.

During the pre op time, I just focused on cleaning, instead of watching tv with snacks. I also picked up tutu making and researching different things I can make to keep me busy after the kids go to sleep.

Best of luck to you in your journey. You will do great!
