I have been banded now for one week and 3 days and have lost a total of 16 pounds. I am still very very sore, but the doc says that is to be expected especially when they mess with your stomach, your muscles will be sore. Tonight I had my first bad experience with food getting stuck! OUCH!!!! I was eating an oven puffy pancake made with mostly eggs and apples and I didn't chew a slice of baked apple good enough, and the rest is history. I just forgot to chew, chew, chew and results were very painful! Never again! Or I hope I remember next time to chew better! So, didn't get to enjoy my husbands nice meal he made for me

Congrats on being banded and I'm sorry you have a bad experience. I never heard of a puffy pancake. Best of luck, 16 lbs is a great loss in such a short time. Things will slow down a little, but don't get discouraged. You will achieve your goal.

Live and learn, huh? We've all been there and it will be a good reminder to chew. Glad you are doing well . . the soreness gets better and wow what a great and supportive hubby! :-)

I have been there! I find that if I sit at the table, I do much better. I have gotten "stuck" twice. Both times I was eating in the living room. Now I eat at the table!

You are doing great with your weight loss!

My first "stuck" was with dry chicken! I know what you mean by pain!!! Keep up the good work and keep note of the food your new tummy doesn't like!

I was banded on 09/08, so am at about 2 1/2 weeks. I've not had any problems yet with food (knock on wood). My main thing is remembering to chew, chew, chew and not drinking something until some time after I eat. I was told not to drink with my meals because it will wash food out of the pouch and if it washes out, I'll have to eat more to get full. Hang in there.
