So here I am. Waiting, waiting, and waiting. :frown: Anxious to find out if I have been approved or not. Although I'm pretty sure I will be, I just want a surgery date. I want to get this surgery over with.

It took me a long time to figure out wether or not to go with it . I had many doubts while deciding. Am I making the right choice? Will this really work? Will I die on the table? Will I wake up from the anesthesia? Will I ever be able to eat again? Will I ever be able to ride a roller coaster? Play sports? What are my parents going to think? Most importantly... what's God going to think?::laugh: *SIGH* It was a long while before I decided to go ahead with the surgery :bored:.

Then I found this website and started reading non stop :w00t:. I am on here almost everyday and I always learn something new :cool2:. I love hearing the good, the bad and the ugly. I want to absorb as much as I can. I think that the more I know, the more comfortable I feel with my decision.

I've let my weight spiral out of control after I had my son was born. I wasn't exactly skinny before my son but I loved my body. I thought I was a good size and I felt good about myself. I need that confidence back. I need my energy back. I need ME back .

The "God" think was a real issue for me too, and all those other questions you have crossed my mind to. A good friend reminded my that God expects us to care of our bodies, and he put that Dr. in our path to help us do just that. This surgery will equip us with better health, more energy to do the things that God planned for us.

Maria,

You will have doubts up until the moment that you actually do have surgery. Heck I had doubts as they were willing me back. I even tried to get out of the morning of when a panic attack loomed. Lucky me I had the patience of a loving older sister and an experience and understanding nurse.

Don't let doubt be the decision maker for you. Choose you. Do you as successfully as you can!

Good: you will feel better than you ever have. Maybe in your whole life.

Bad: you will regret not doing it sooner

Ugly: Before pictures

I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made in my life. There are so many positives; some of which you can't "see" or "feel" they just exist: plane seats, crossing your legs, shopping in stores you couldn't before......

Best of luck to you! Be at peace with your decision and take care!
