Started at 221. I had surgery October 27...lost 20 pounds in the first two weeks (I know crazy!) Things went really well for a while - I lost 40 pounds by end of November. Then weight loss started to slow down so I got an adjustment in April'ish...lost another 9 pounds in a week and got down to 171 but was throwing up everyday. Got adjusted again in middle of June to stop puking and from middle of June til now GAINED 20 POUNDS!! I am so angry!! I finally talked my nurse prac to give me an adjustment again to tighten me. She wasn't very cooperative about it until I said let's take this thing out because it's not helping me. It's so weird! Started at 221, got down to 171, now am at 191 and am so depressed and ANGRY!! I don't feel very restricted and she tightened me today. She keeps saying I need to quit relying on my band...is that true? I thought I got the band to lose weight? It was so easy until I started to throw up alot and she adjusted me so much that there was truly no restriction - she said I needed it to give the "trauma" to my band a break. So today I finally got an adjustment...she won't even tell me how much. What is the deal with that? I feel like she wants me to fail? HELP! any advice, good or bad is appreciated!!!!!!

well it does take two to make it work! You and the band! I don't believe you can eat everything under the sun but you can eat healthy things and eat them at a small portion and you will do very well. I eat just about everything..excluding ice cream, sugary foods (cakes, cookies and so forth)...my snacks are sf popsicles (several a day) & laughing cow cheese with apples or grapes and when I splurge it is a handful of jelly beans. I was banded 11/23/9 and have lost 118 lbs..and now have 8 lbs left to reach my goal. I believe they didn't tell you how much of an adjustment they made is because they want it mind over matter...if you play the mind game and think you have a lot, then you will feel the restriction...if you want to be the little devil..and say there is none in there..then you will not feel any restriction...all a mind game. I don't think they purposely want you to fail. Another thing that really worked for me was to stay positive..every day that I was mad or upset at the world..I didn't lose which made me more upset..so then I had to refocus and get my positive attitude back. I wish you the very best!

I am going to see a new lapband doctor today because I am not losing weight with my old one. I had surgery on 2-23 of this year and so far down 30 pounds and yes I work out. I was slacking a couple of months ago and eating sweets, but I stopped. I feel like they are power tripping with my fills because I keep complaining about not feeling restriction. Like you Dr. they refuse to tell my how much I am getting and tell me not to worry about that. She keep telling me to eat 1/2 cup regardless of feeling restriction. I am so tired of their negative attitude and looking at me like a loser because I am not one of the "star" patients. My last fill was on 9-7 and this was the first time I can honestly say I feel some type of restiction. I have been working out for an hour a day lately and still havent' lost anything! I have no idea what's going on. I am praying when I go in today I have lost at least one pound of sweat from all my working out:) Good luck with you. I have tried to stay positive with this journey but it gets hard sometimes.

I understand the discouragement. I'd lost 55 before surgery...after surgery, gained 15. I cried like a baby. I got a fill, lost 4...went back this week, gained 1. This is really discouraging..They gave me a fill, but the doctor was afraid it was too much and wants me back in 2 weeks. We'll see what happens. I feel ya! Try to stay positive as negative does no good...but I feel ya!
