A Bandster Reflects...........

Two things:

1. I think I've always been pretty opinionated, but it seems like its getting worse the older I get (or more frustrated or busy or something?). I will try to keep my opinions to myself. Nobody needs to hear what I think and I've noticed I'm telling people what I think isn't really a good thing. I'm going to try to (LoseIt's term) Close Thy Mouth a little more whether its in a conversation at work, church, or even on this site.

2. I had my surgery almost 4 months ago. People don't really want to hear about lap band (outside of bandsters). People I haven't seen for more than 4 months don't really want to hear HOW I lost weight they just want me to say "thank you" for the compliment and move on. I've struggled with this one and I'm working on making this better.

I'm just so excited about how my life is going I get a little giddy and talkative. Its my nature and this old dog is working on new tricks. Until then, thank you all for listening and understanding :-).

Oh gosh, don't stop talking on this site...we need you!! :) Talk to us, we love to hear what you have to say.

I completely understand what you are saying about "outside" people. I have the same tendency to talk about it all the time and then my friends (who are EXTREMELY supportive) are like ENOUGH ALREADY! :) But we are here for this exact reason. You should feel safe to come out here and say whatever you are feeling!!

Struggling with compliments IS tough. I understand that as well. It takes everything in me to just say thank you. I have gotten better at it, but I still say "but..." in my head. That's going to take a little longer.

We love you, girl! Please never feel silenced. You are valued and cherished!

Never apologize for being you. Something you say may be just what another person needs that day. A little encouragment goes a long way!

I like that you tell your honest opinion. You are good at doing it without seeming bossy. Don't change!

I understand telling everyone about Lap Band. If someone says something about my wieght lost, I fell obligated to tell them I had Lap Band. It's like I feel dishonest if I don't tell them.

Love you all tons and tons (ok, hundreds and hundreds...). I'm practicing my "not talking about banding" so much -- gosh its harder than I thought. My original goal was one day with no discussion (work/home/friends) but that didn't work so I'm going for an hour at a time LOL. You guys have no clue how much I talk (LOL, yes you do!)

Sandy, I know how you feel. I want to talk about the band and how it is changing my life and no one wants to hear about it. I work in a Pharmacy and just yesterday one of the girls had a Bday party and of course there was cake. I feel like I am under a microscope sometimes and even if I am "having a taste" I am being watched. So now I kind of regret sharing that I had the lapband surgery because I feel self concious every time I take a bite of something. I haven't shared with all my friends and family as of yet because some people think it's the EASY way out hah!! It is still hard work and I try every day to stay focused. It is my evening time when I am idle that I tend to lean towards snacking. Anywho I started rambling about me. I love too talk a lot too so if you ever want to chat send me and email :)) Stay true to yourself, you are perfect just the way you are!
