medicare pays 80% so really dont see why not.i'll question it when i go see the nut on the 22nd.

Well, my insurance paid 80% and I was told by the hospital that I would have to pay the remaining 20% which was around 1600 before the surgery but I asked to speak to the person in charge of making exceptions to the rule because I know at every company there is someone that can overrule decisions!! When I got that person on the phone she let me pay 400 on the day of surgery and set up monthly payments for the rest. So, you just have to get the right person on the phone. Good luck.

Ask, beg, plead and pray!...do whatever it takes and most of all don't give up! There are also medical loans you can get. I was self pay all the way and have fought for reimbursement after the surgery. I have got back some of my money...regardless I would do it all over again tomorrow. Being banded has changed my life, well I should say..being banded has GIVEN me a life. Losing 117 lbs in 10 months is something I dreamed of not knowing it would be a reality!
