Streching the Stomach out

I was at the Pulminologists office this week. (My last doctors appt before surgery.) He says "You realize after you get the band on, it only takes one time of thinking 'oh I can blow it today' and you will strech your stomach out." and then you are done. Any comments on this? Im having the hardest time thinking that I could make one mistake of overeating and my stomach will be streched out. After making bad decisions all my life, the thought of changing instantaneiously is scary to me. surgery to be in November.:smile:

Don't let people sabotage you even though they are a doctor. Doctors are not gods, just people like you and me.

You are strong having made the decision to do what you've done ( banding). No worry, you'll be fine, take it one drink/meal at a time.

Just another hater to ignore. Yes, you need to follow instructions and yes you will be eating differently (slowly, chewing, healthier). Everyone seems to be able to conjure up horror stories about pouches stretching (coffee, soda, eating). I'm waiting for someone to say having sex or breathing. One has to wonder where and why people say these things.

Chin up! It will be great! :-).

If that were the case, you wouldn't have very many success stories!! We ALL have these issues and I guarantee that we ALL "mess up" from time to time. The Band will help you change as you need to!

I agree with what everyone has said and would only add that your band will also let you know when you are getting full . . . you will know it is time to stop. You'll do great!
