I went through the most horrible experience and to top it off, I haven't lost any weight. In fact, I've gained weight. I hope someone reads this blog and replies to me so I can get some type of support. I know I can do it, but I just need a lot of encouragement at this time.

Was the pain from the surgery the horrible experience your talking about? If so it does get better with time. Everybody heals at a different rate & pain levels vary between people. I wouldn't get to worried about the weight gain. Your body's healing & needs time. When you start getting fills then you will start to see a change, but even then we have to be patient. We will come out the winner on this weight loss battle I just know it! Keep posting & let us know how your doing. We care:)

Don't worry. I was just banded yesterday and had a lil issue to deal with, but things happen and I don't regret my decision to get banded. Remember everything you went through after you made the decision to become banded. Remember the promise you made to yourself and your doctor.

My bestfriend hit a few plateaus during her years with the band. She just gets a few fills to find her sweet-spot and returns to the liquid diet and increase her exercise. It usually does the trick to get her jump started.

Remember the band is only a tool and you still have to work at helping the weight to come off.

Wish you well and this is only advise based on my experience and advice from my friends.

Take care.

Don't fret. I was banded Feb 25th of this year and I gained a pound my first month. I lost 5 pounds the second month. 15 pound the third month. Six months later I have a total weight loss of at least 47 pounds (I say this cause I have banned myself from the scale and don't have an accurate number since my last weigh in). It gets better, be encouraged and follow basic eating guidelines. I remember feeling like I was the only one who the band wasn't working for. But that has all changed. You can see my pics to prove it.

Good luck!

like imaluckydog says, you are healing, now is not the time to focus on the lbs.....my surgeon told me that when I when in for my first fill and was discouraged by the pound gain.

The weight will come off when your body will let it go. Just keep following the band rules. I did not lose much at all the first month. I also gained after surgery your body is adjusting. You are still healing so pamper yourself and try not to focus on the pounds. Focus on living and finding fun things to do with the new you. Before you know it the pounds will disappear. Keep busy and walk. Eat small to be small. Best wishes imaluckydog
