Hungry in the Afternoon!

Ok, I need HELP! I am 9 weeks out (banded June 21st). I had my first fill July 21st at 3.8cc's and I'm scheduled for my second fill September 15th and the problem is...I'm hungry!!! I get hungry about 2-3 PM everyday. I do really well in the morning (may be due to the band being tighter in the morning and the fact that I have never been a heavy eater in the morning).

Sample Menu

I wake up and drink a cup of hot tea (with teaspoon of skim milk and splenda)

Breakfast:

I typically eat a Greek yogurt w/ honey or I make a protein shake with skim milk and maybe fresh fruit).

Snack:

hummus & veggies, Special K cracker and a laughing cow, or a protein bar.

Lunch:

Spinach or romaine salad with grilled chicken, feta cheese, almonds, or walnuts and dressing (I eat the 2tbsp serving size of regular, taste better)

Snack: this is where I need help, cheese & crackers, protein shake, yogurt, etc doesn:t seem to keep me full) I drink water

intermittingly. :scared2:

Any suggestions to changes in my diet to help keep me full longer? Any good high protein snack ideas? I don't like eggs:thumbdown:

I guess "meat" snack could be good, but not good for when on the go. Thanks!

I feel hungry between lunch and dinner as well. If I eat protein (3-4 oz) almost like a meal but with it wrapped around string cheese like deli turkey or chicken it feeds the hunger and keeps me not hungry again until about 7.

I eat lunch around noon. But I can't eat dinner usually until 6 and I'm driving between 4-6 (a lot of it) and drinking water seems to make me hungrier. I make up a couple of my little treats, put them in a little cooler and carry it in the car with me from work back home and munch slowly. Finish 2 by 5. I feel much better and not apt to eat so much or so fast at dinner at 7, which is then a bit lighter than a full cup.

Wow, it sounds like you do a great job with getting in your protien. What if you save some of your nuts from lunch and eat them in the afternoon? How about peanut butter? What if you don't eat the crackers and you eat a little more cheese? Are you hungry at lunch? Maybe shifting around when you eat will help? Good luck!

I eat a protein bar between lunch and dinner, my favorite is the Pure Protein Smore's Bar... and a plus is its packed with 19 grams of protein. I eat it about 3pm, and holds me over till dinner at 7!!
