A Milestone! Not Eating When I'm Stressed?!

Amazing the changes in my hunger and eating.....

 

I'm having a very stressful time at work. My trip Wednesday to San Francisco got cancelled at the last minute, and I felt bad about not going. In addition, things are really bad at work. A lot of drama, no clear communication, less clear direction and a bunch of rumors and whispering. My job is a big part of my life (I made it that way, ick!)

 

In the past, when I'm stressed out, I ALWAYS turned to food. Mindlessly eating on the couch, watching TV, thinking "Woe is Me". I am still thinking the woe is me thing, but I'm not hungry and I'm not mindlessly eating like I used to. I made a clear decision tonight to have something healthy, and am sticking to Vitamin Water Zero the rest of the night.

 

Tomorrow I'll start to deal with what I might need to do with my job. Tonight I'm going to do a little cleaning, give myself a facial and relax.

 

I've been going to the Emotional Eating support group for three weeks. Its sinking in!!! And thank you to all of you for the wonderful advice and support along the way. I have always felt tremendous support, and I will continue to try to support all of you as best I can.

Wow! What a milestone! To be able to take that frustration energy and turn it into something positive and healthful for you is incredible! I hope everyone who is struggling reads this and sees that changes Do and WILL happen with effort and commitment!!!

And I really hope work gets better for you, you deserve to be happy at work as well as at home!

Support groups. My first one is Tuesday and I am not even banded but decided to go to one. And by reading your blog they help. Stress from work is awful as I remember but should have never happened. I am retired now and think back how stressed I got and I was foolish for getting so stressed. Think of yourself and your health and try and stop the stress which is easy for me to say. You did great by not feeding your stress, I am proud of you.

Way to go Sandy!! Very proud of you for taking these actions. It's so easy to fall into old bad habits but you aren't. Congratulations!! Good luck getting the job to a better place. I'll be thinking about you!

YOU GO GIRL!!! Your healthy is so much more important than any job, so try not to stress. I know it is easier said than done - I'm a Customer Service Manger, you want to talk stress? Anyway, you are putting you mind to doing better and there you go. Keep it up, we are all pulling for you to continue in your success.

I know, doesn't it feel good to be in control and not turn to food! I have my stress now under control....also, with working out (walking, ellyptical, heavy yardwork) that really helps too!

Good milestone! Keep it up!
