Hi all

As u know i had my first fill yesterday and was given 5ccs which seemed like a whole lot to me for a first fill. well i was on pureed yesterday and everything was going great. Today not so great... so i had b/fast, oatmeal and couldnt finish 1/2 cup and after i was done the food felt as though it was stuck in my throat or on my chest...it just felt stuck. I hit the gym and while i was working out I tried to drink water but everytime I take a mouthful i have to keep it in my mouth and swallow tiny sips at a time or else i would be nauseated. I really dont mind having to sip on water but its the feeling of the food being stuck is what gets to me. and after about a half hour i can feel it slowly moving down. Is this a sign of my band being too tight or should i just give myself time to adjust?

and PS the burping is off the charts. I have never burped this much and this loud in my life. I hate it!!! is anyone else experiencing that???

OMG, I have been right where you are, but not with 5cc's at the time. I have not gotten over 1.5 cc's at the time. That does seem like a lot to me. I think I only have 6.5 cc's in an 11 cc band after one year. I think you should stay on soft foods for a day or two and only ever sip water, gulping water can add a lot of air and cause you to burp. Check with your Dr. if it does not get any better soon. Good luck I wish you much success.

after my fills, i have to do 24hours of clear liquids, 1 week of liquids, then 1 week of pureed, then 1 week of "mushies"....maybe you need to slow down on your food consumption?

i had 5cc at once and i was fine :-)

and Janet is right, sip dont gulp.....

After a fill you should to stay on liquids and soft foods for 3 days.. You may just have to slip all your liquids all the time, to keep you from burping.. I also think 5cc is alot, I remeber my first fill I was given 4cc and I was sick so sick. My band holds 10cc. And now I only get 1.5cc after finding what works for me. Call your Dr.after 4 or 5 days if it has not goten any better you may have to have some of your fill taken out. I wish you the best.. Good Luck!
