discouraged

Tomorrow is one month since my surgery. I am very discouraged. I have not lost any weight in the last two weeks. I feel like I am eating more than I should be able to. Granted still eating much less than before, but not seeing results. I can eat just about anything. I stay away from bread because it doesn't go down well. Are these typical experiences? My next dr. appt is Monday the 9th. I am guessing I will get a fill. Hopefully I won't be able to eat as much and won't be as hungry. I am also having problems not drinking while eating. I don't drink between meals (never have) but I drink alot during meals. Anyone else have this problem?:tt2:

I've been stuck at 196 for about 2 wks...I had my surgery june 2nd and was losing steadily until 196...so i have also started to think what am i doing wrong. I could exercise just haven't put the effort. and i could also make better choices of meals. Anyway...i guess the surgery can't do it on its own. So here i am trying to get past this lull with dieting yet again. lol i am so glad you said something about not losing...i was wondering if anyone else hit a slow period too. good luck and i hope we can both post happier stories next time.

I have only been banded 2 weeks and a few days and have it a brick wall. I lost 10lbs the first week and gained 2lbs the second week. I exercise everyday and can only eat very little since I am just entering the soft foods stage. I get on the scale ALL day long and have been disappointed everytime this week. Maybe I'm not getting enough protein but I have been doing the shakes for several weeks now and the thought of them makes me want to vomit. Hopefully we can all get past this stage sooner rather than later. Good luck!

I had to check the user on this blog, I thought I'd written it!. I've been banded almost 2 months, and lost about 3 lbs since surgery (20 pre-op) I've been very dissapointed, but i have to admit i wasn't giving my all in this. Only the beginning of this week have i started counting my calories ( iHATE THAT) and i noticed that even though i wasn't eating much, way way less than before, i was still getting in close to 4000 calories! now that i've cut down to about 1200-1300 calories a day, i've started losing, i've gone down a good 3-4 lbs!! plus i also have to admit that i'm not exercising through this, that would help if i did, but i'm stilll the fat girl inside, even with the band. so it's not an easy road and the band surely is a tool. i guess i'll have to get off my butt & work at it. Good luck, let me know how it goes.

oh, and i've had my first fill a few weeks ago, didn't do a thing for me. no restriction. and i can pretty much eat anything. i get my next fill next week so hopefully i will be able to eat less. it's frustrating, but we're all in the same boat. we must have patience (how can i grow patience?!?!?) :)

First, hang in there. There are good days and bad days, and sometimes they turn into weeks. I'd try to journal your eating and see if you (like Rosie) might be eating more than you think you are? Get in the water, and try to exercise 3 x a week (30 minutes each). This is from my psych who heads up our emotional eating group. There were two attendees in the same place you are. And by the way, at one time or another (or two or six or ten times), we are all where you are! Keep going! It will change.

I gained weight during the first 6 weeks, then I started getting fills and started losing. Start practicing good skills, measure and journal your food, start walking 30 min a day three times a week and pretend you have restriction. You will be hungry during this time but it will get better! Don't give up now!

Like another blogger said you have to have to excercise at least 3x's a week......And right down everything eating....VERY Important....Sometimes you could be loosing inches even if the scale goes up it could also be muscle mass your building behind the protein you endure everyday.....As far as eating and drinking at the same time...You have to be very careful, yu can stretch your band even more which defeats the case of getting the lapband...Try this; after you, get away from the table and find something to do for atleast 1/2hr....Go back and drink an 8oz glass of sugar-free or clear fluid drink....Good luck....

take it easy... i Have been stuck at 240lbs for the last 4 months!!! I have had 4 fills and i still have little restriction, but im sure i will get to the sweet spot. It just takes time for some.

YOu will get your 1st fill and u will feel a difference.

My 1 year anniv is Sept 30th and my goal is to loose 10lbs by then so that my total loss will be 50lbs!. doesnt sound like much but it is when you look at "50 lbs bags of rice"...lol

best of luck!

Thanks to all for the info. I have been exercising, but not recording everything I eat. Will start that and hopefully with that and my fill things will get better.
