You will go to the seminar and be so impressed by what you see and hear that you will be even more excited for the surgery. If you choose Lap-Band, it will be a slower loss than Gastric Bypass or the Sleeve, but in my opinion the Lap-Band is less invasive and much more healthy. Plus, you will return to your normal life so much quicker. As you said, the LB is a tool, but you have to do all of the work. Your diet will change greatly - no more bread, potatoes, sugar or carbinated drinks. You MUST exercise, which I never thought I would get to do at my size, but I do and I love it. What will you get? You will lose the weight and get healthier, have a better quality of life and just feel so much better about yourself. Good luck, it is the best gift you will ever give yourself.

Ditto . .. to what both Bklynike and SAGARCIA have said. I am 3 weeks post op and loving it. Losing slowly, but my main goal is to KEEP the weight off . . something I have never been able to do. Best wishes in your decision making.
