I stared and stared at this picture, trying to see where the real me went all those pounds ago. I don't even recognize my own face, and to think, my family & friends have seen me like this for so long. New friends think this is who I am. I have avoided being in any picture for years, I sucked it up for this one, knowing this was the last time I would look this big. The only thing I love about this picture is my beautiful daughter. I have always told her how healthy she looks and how being active keeps you healthy, I never imposed the issues I have with food and self image on her (or my son..he's just as gorgeous). Thank you God, they listen to me and didn't follow me!

Posting this picture is another step for me in being honest with myself. Facing my body head on will give me the strength to keep going and the ambition to get fit & healthy like my children!

Thank you God, again, for courage.

Just put my makeup on for the day and I'm crying!!You are doing so well, you keep this picture as a reminder!

And you look really good in the picture -- even though you want to look better you have to take heart in the fact that you've taken this step, you are making major changes, and that you have support around you!

Your daughter is beautiful! And oh by the way, I have your shirt in hot pink............ You sound like a great mom and a great person.

Enjoy this time. Your picture will change every month. Thank you for your post...........

I am SO proud of you. What an amazing step! And it's a positive step in the right direction. Two years ago, I refused to take photos with my husbands band. I am the lead female singer. His project was fantastic yet I could not share in his joy because I was 280lbs and there was NO WAY over the RAINBOW I was going to be pictured with my handsome talented hubby looking the way that I did! Then after the CD came out, I got hurt all over again, because....I WAS NOT IN THEM! :) Everyone said, where are you Laura and I did not want to explain to them the trama of it all. See where we put ourselves? Our weight can really keep us trapped.

But now....OH YES, he is working on his 3rd CD and GUESS WHO'S GOING TO BE IN THE PHOTOS!!!!!! HA! GOAL is SWEET and the lapband has been the best thing I have ever done for myself!

So keep posting those photos because now they are going to tell your story and show your journey!

So...I AM PROUD OF YOU!:)
