Why the freaking wait? I was told the hardest/longest part is the wait on insurance approval, and it hasn't been....it's been the wait for the dr. offc to call me and schedule an appointment to do preop diet...I don't want to call thier offc (again), so I'm trying to be a good patient...and wait. ugh...

On the flip side...I'm relieved from being approved, but nervous about what awaits me. I have all these (dumb) feelings in my head...what if it doesn't work for me? what if something goes wrong during procedure? what if my skin is ultra yucky after? what if? what if? what if?

My husband is wonderful and super supportive, but he's a little worried too...a couple of my neighbors are trying to talk me out of it...and the only supportive one is considering it herself. I'm ready for the new, old me...so why do I question it?

Oh my goodness, have I been there! First, none of the feelings your have are "dumb"! God gave you those feelings for a reason. Explore your feelings as much as you can! I considered "what if it doesn't work for me" and replaced that thought with "it will work for me". I also replaced the "what if's" of surgery with "what if I keep living like this". I am day 3 after surgery and 19 after I started my life change, and maybe it's because it's still so new, but I am LOVING my new life! I feel wonderful (though a little sore), like I have been given a second chance to be healthy! I don't want to get wordy or preachy, just know that you are not alone. You can contact me on here, or check out my blog if you want to follow my journey. This is your decision, do it for you and nobody else. And kiss your husband for being so supportive!

I think we all had doubts before surgery . . it IS scary. I encourage you to read lots and lots of the posts on this site, I found that to be very encouraging. Everyone is so positive and you can find tips on being successful. The band is a tool - you make it work. Best wishes.
