Well I am feeling much better. Still VERY tired and definitely no energy. After having 2cc removed 5 days post-op I no longer have the choking feeling in my throat, but I am getting hungry and feel no restriction. My dr. appt is aug 16. I am nervous about getting a fill because I do not want to feel like I felt before.

obviously i'm no expert as i was banded the same day as you, but here's how it was explained to me by my surgeon: he said that when they do the procedure, they put the band in completely emptly and don't add any fluid after "placement". i didn't eat anything the day of surgery, the day after, and then finally on that friday i had some popsicles. I was literally not hungry until then and I have always had a very "healthy" (rather unhealthy) appetite. I couldn't believe that I wasn't hungry; for days, with nothing in the band...The doctor said that the swelling was the reason for this and that's why they wait 4-6 weeks after surgery to add the fluid. I guess my point is that based on how it was explained to me, your fill will not make you feel how you felt before because the swelling wouldn't be an issue anymore, you would just simply have the fluid in the band as restriction. I hope that eases your nerves a little bit and may be something you want to talk to your doctor to confirm and he/she may also explain in more detail.

I'm 7 months post op as of yesterday..you won't (shouldn't) feel bad after your fill.. you were more than likely very swollen which is what caused the feeling you felt and for the liquid to be removed.

As for your energy level, check with your dr and ask if you can move to mushies or eat something of substance like cream of wheat, that'll get your energy up.
