Everything was going smooth until my retarded family doctor left and a NEW PA took his place and she wants a A1C done and it will determen if she will give me clearance for the operation...I am so mad right know cause the doctor in St.Louis was A ok with everything and was hoping to get the operation in 3 wks or so...

No it didn't. My insurance covers BMI of 40 or higher, or BMI of 35 with a co-morbidity (I had diabetes II). I was approved for pre-certification in 24 hours --- definitely not the norm from the stories others have shared with me. Good luck!

My doctor told me i was borderline diabetic but that this surgery should take care of that...now the doc that is supposed to do my surgery won't do it coz my thyroid is too low..i have to get that in normal range before they will even consider me...so i know your frustration!! Good luck though!
