 This is my first time blogging. I was banded March 29,2010 and have lost about 30 lbs. I find myself slipping and going back to old habits of eating out and eating the same old fried crap that helped get me this way.Is anyone else struggling with this or anyone that has overcome this temptation? If so I would like to know what helped you.. ..If there is advise or tips that helped you please let me know of them..... Good luck to everyone on their weight loss journey.

Hi Goodgirl81,

I hear ya....I have been doing really good and then the last couple of weeks, I have only lost 3 lbs....and it is because I have been visiting my favorite Mexican restaurant and eating way too much. So, I need to only go there maybe once a month (after loosing 5 lbs or more!). It is just not worth it to get banded, go through all the things you do with the band and then not loose!!!

I have discovered a really great lunch - chicken teryaki bowl with extra vegees (no rice). It is so good....from a chinese fast food, but not a heavy sauce...very good....

Good luck! We will slip, but will not fall down!

I have the same problem but mine is with birthday cake with buttercream icing. I love cake, just birthday cake. I try to limit myself but I ate it for 4 days in a row and gained 10 lbs so I know it isn't worth it but just one taste would send me into overload where I had to have the whole piece. The only thing that helps is to get on the scale and see where I am throughout the day and drink my protein. I weigh when I get up and then after work and then at bedtime. Depending on my weight is the decision maker on what I will eat for dinner. The scale is my poison. Just try to stay away from fried foods because of all the calories and grease, it's not good for you or the band. You have made the decision to get the surgery now use the tool. That is what I have to remind myself. Fried foods are addicting I know but they just add weight to you. Maybe try to take a little walk around the neighborhood with the dog or the husband or a good friend or just by yourself. Good luck and you can always write me if you need some support.

Hi, I got into the chocolate yesterday and it made me sick. I have been banded for over a year and it was my stinkin thinkin that made me do it. I had extreme heart burn and could not sleep. I do not even want to get on the scale. OMG

I have disordered eating and I know I need to get a handle on it. I said to myself this morning the same as you. I am not going to let this get me down from having a super Banderific day!!! I am going back and re reading my rules, I am going to set goals and I am going to continue to play well with my band. I limit myself to 1 fried meal a month and even though I cannot eat much of it I so look forward to it. I need to teach myself how to eat well for healthy living. This tool is helping me and I need to make better choices. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes imaluckydog

Hi! I am newly banded. I have had no fills. My first is in two weeks. I really have very little limitations as of now. I am doing the best that I can but made a smore the other evening. I have never thrown up. Is it common to have little restrictions with new bands that have not been filled? I lost 13 the first week and have maintained the second but am discouraged....will it be better if my fills???

I have been banded for 10 months...ost 40 lbs so far. But in the last 3 month i have not lost an oz. Pretty fustrating...since ima going to the gym 3 times a week. My diet is not perfect, i am not into fried food...but i still do like my rice, pasta and crunchy carbs that are so bad. I have almost no restriction (after 6 fills) so i am depending on my will power till i get to the sweet spot i hear so much about.

Take everyday as a NEW day to make choices.

Yesterday you might of eaten crap...but TODAY you will change what you put in your mouth.

We have all had bad eating habbits for years, it is unrealistic to think we can change and be perfect in a short amount of time.

Keep your chin up!! and take it one day at a time.

Remember you have lost 30lbs already...that is great!

My goal is to loose a total of 50lbs by my 1 year anniv in Sept. Doesnt sound like much...but it took me 10 years to gain 100 Lbs, i think it will take me maybe 2 years to loose it
