Today we celebrated a special occassion w/some good friends... we ended up going to Olive Garden....I'm not gonna' lie and say that "i ate well", but i will tell the truth and say that i ate much better than I would have eaten just 2 months ago!!!! I did NOT have any breadsticks!! (and they are so yummy at OG!!) I did NOT have any wine! (I toasted with the glass, then poured the wine into my husband's glass! - smart!):) I ate a small plate of salad but did NOT add dressing. I ate the tomato part of the Brushetta but NOT the bread!! (mmmm.... that is so good alone!! i never realized that before)!! I ordered eggplant parmisan (b/c it is mushy and i'm technically still s'posed to be eating "mush"!!!) but i did NOT eat all of the eggplant slices - only 2 or 3!! I did NOT eat the pasta that came w/it!! I did order desssert!!! (mmmmm.... that chocolate mousse thingie is to die for!!! and besides-its SOFT!!!! LOL!) but i did NOT finish it!!! only ate half!!! so i figure i ate far less than even 1/2 of what i would have normally eaten!!! so i'm still ahead of the game!!! :smile2:

I'm sure people will yell at me for this but I say bravo! As far as I'm concerned you should still be able to go out and celebrate with your family and enjoy something you like on occasion...just not often, and hopefully not as big of a splurge as you would have pre-op. Glad you had a good time and kinda sorta behaved!

You did fine. You cannot possibly be a perfect lap-bander all of the time. If you completely cut out everything you used to like, you will never be happy. Once in a blue moon is ok. You enjoyed, now move on.

I eat out quite often...you just need to make wise choices. Your analysis seems fair..no bread, you stuck with mushies and didn't eat the pasta. You probably would have craved the chocolate thingy making you want to eat everything in the cupboard had you not ate it..so eating half of it was probably ok..so every once in a while it is ok..so then move on as Bklynike said.

You turned down all of the evil (yummy!) food that calls my name too! Great job!! And thanks for admitting your human. I'm sure I'm gonna do something that's not 100% by the rules (I'm not that far into this so I'm sure it's coming). I like what everyone is saying - move on. Hope you do! :)

I am really proud of myself b/c one of the things that use to sabatoge my dieting before was that i had the mentality that "if i cheated even a little, i was 'off my diet' and might as well give up!" so I did (give up)...but now i just know i have to eat "right" for the next week (taking one week at a time) and do "extra" exercize tomorrow and saturday and sunday - ......uh oh!!! :) LOL!

I understand about those olive garden breadsticks I used to go there just for them lol - literally I would eat lunch then I would buy some to go they are that good. In the long run it will be worth giving up some of those sinful pleasures. One week at a time. Also as women our bodies fluctuate due to monthly cycles, hormones, etc .. so there will be some weeks we don't lose we just keep moving forward.

Good for you...and trust me when I tell you to STAY AWAY FROM THE BREADSTICKS... I ate them a couple of months ago.. PAIN.. OMG PAIN!!! STAY AWAY FROM THE BREADSTICKS.. I REPEAT....STAY AWAY FROM THE BREADSTICKS! lol

But you did great! I totally believe in still eating what you want, just less of it, that's the key to true success in weightloss with the lapband in my opinion.
