Lesson Learned

Well I had my pureed soup last night and it was so good! Ten minutes after eating it I started to feel this incredibly full feeling and all sorts of noises came from my belly, gurgle, rumble you name it! I was too full. Big mistake I did not measure the soup I put it in a mug and only ate 3/4 of what was in there. I walked for an hour to try to relieve myself of that too full feeling. I burped a lot, everything stayed down but I was uncomfortable for a while. I guess I am still swollen, I just figured since I was able to take a mug of the liquid broth it was the same, wrong! Well as my 8 year old told me last night, now mommy have you learned your lesson? Yes lesson learned!

lol..how cute is your 8 yr old? But it's all a learning processing. Each fill will bring you something new, things you could eat before with no problem will suddenly get "stuck" one fill and not the next. Everyday is a journey with this but it's a journey I'm happy to take.

At 6 months I'm still learning what my band can tolerate, last night I had posole soup (Mexican pork & hominy soup) and my favorite dessert. I went there for dessert so I tried to save room, which about 4 bites left I was FULL but I kept going.. I paid for it by being uncomfortable all night and now I'm "tender" in my band area.. so today will be nothing but shakes, soups and popsicles but MAN was that dessert worth it! LOL

All of that being said.. it DOES get better, you'll learn more and more everyday. From reading your posts it seems like you've doing well! Keep up the good work!

I'm with you on this one. Those noises! Almost like your band talking to you "what DID you do?". "DONT do it again". Its all part of the learning process.

Glad you feel somewhat better today. :-)

Yes it's take time to learn what works for you. The does and not do, am still learning and am 9 months in. We have been eating one way for all our lives and now we are retraining our self. You are doing fine keep up the good work. As you and your 8 year old say lesson learned. We all are learning.. Good luck!
