:eek:Ate a little cheese and crackers mid morning, Water, and one protein Shake, Gosh did I get hungry before last night at Dinner.

I worked straight through 13 hrs yesterday helping a friend staff over 100 workers for the Gulf Oil Spill! By the time I got home and tried to eat something it was just too late, same thing today. But I sent out for some food to have and I munched on it all day, then ate tonight. Whew, I don't eat that much, but when you DON'T get food, you will not feel good! I packed a lunch yesterday, but did not have time to eat. THE OIL IS COMING! We have tarballs on the beautiful white sand beaches in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. I have lived here all my life and NEVER thought I would see this day, it will be a LONG time before they are clean. :tt1:

We take some things for granted like a beach, that it will always be pretty! We have to pitch in and work hard to make sure that this is done. I am trying to do my part. Many good people will be out of work because of this, so maybe the cleanup will help them replace income they have lost.

I feel very blessed to have grown up on these beaches! :sad:Very Sad Day to see it come to this! I will take some lunch tho or snacks for the day tomorrow, short day tomorrow, but it is my husbands birthday and I will take him out to eat tomorrow night.

Bless you, Janet. I believe most Americans are sickened by what has happened... and not a little confused/angry at why *they* (whoever *they* are, whether it is the gvt or BP) hasn't allowed some of the methods at removing the oil from the water to be implemented. Mike Huckabee had a show dedicated to the many people, some scientists, some just regular Joes, who had come up with ways to get the oil out. The hay thing was the first method I saw way back when, but there are lots of other things too. Sickening that Walton County in FL was all set to go with the hay thing... long before it reached the shore, and the state gvt blocked their efforts. I just don't understand it. Bless you again for being proactive. I wish there was something I could do from up my way. Saying prayers for everyone involved (which will ultimately be every US citizen, if not everyone on the planet!!) I know you are heartbroken to see this happen to your home. Take care of you and don't forget to eat!!! CathyB

I grew up going to Panama City Beach for a family vacation each Easter for 16 years. I'm heartbroken to see those beautiful beaches turn dark. I cannot imagine the devastation and heartbreak you all feel being there.

Please make sure you are taking care of yourself -- try to get some food and water periodically -- so you don't get sick. God bless you for your dedication, and please let us know if there is some way, from far away, your band buddies can help?!

Thanks to all of you, it is heartbreaking to see these white sand beaches devastated with oil. And the gas prices are reflecting it too. I think you can rent a 2 BR Condo in PCB today for $350.00 per month, can't go onto the Beaches, but it is still a nice area to stay. I like the pool best anyway, LOL Yes it looks like they could get something done, BP has no Idea how to handle this and they won't take anyones advise on it. The cap blew off in the Gulf today and now Pensacola Beach has been invaded with heavy black oil on it's pristine beaches, Mirimar Beach is Seascape (Destin) is next only a couple of days away. We have a crew just about ready to deploy to the location here in Walton County, FL. Worked 14 hours today due to the cap incident, will have to have dinner with Hubby for his BD later, he is understanding. Back at it again in five hours. Ate twice today, took me 4 hours to eat the last meal, just much a little here a little there, but drank most all day! It was good and we are still thankful. I was reminded on the way home tonight, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.!" Pray for the Panhandle of Florida.

Prayers going out to you for all of your efforts as well as everyone in the Panhandle. I am in Seminole (St Pete/Tampa area) I know we are praying for our beaches as well. You are a wonderful, courageous woman but please don't forget to take care of yourself!!
