I had my band two weeks ago, I followed the protein shake diet and followed the clearr liquid diet for week one post-op and now full liquid for week two. I have a huge amount of pain mid abdominal and mid back and am also vomiting 2-4 times a day for no reason. I called the doctors office, but staff did not seem overly concerned. I am weak, have a huge amount of pain and have had a headache since the surgery. Has anyone else had a similar experience?:smile2:

Call back and tell them you need to come in. My surgery was quick, easy and pretty much painless. By day 3 I was back to normal. To be two weeks in and still having that much trouble I would go in and speak with them, especially since you're vomiting which can cause slippage.

You need to cal them back and INSIST that they see you. You need an anti-nausea prescription immediately. Vomiting when a band is new is by FAR when the largest percentage of slips occur...you do NOT want to be vomiting now. You also need to find out what is causing the vomiting...perhaps you need a different pain med. Get thee to the Doc NOW!

Do you have your doctor's number for emergencie calls, have him paged right away talk to him that way... Tell him what is going on, and let him tell you that it's ok , not the office staff in your case. Good luck!

Thanks for the comments. Went to see the surgeon yesterday. It appears, feeling this bad is NOT Normal. It appears I should have had an anti-nausea medication the night before surgery to reduce any nausea. The stitches ripped creating a fistula where fluid is moving through the stomach and also around the capsule that is brought up and sewn to hold the band in place. As it appears now the band is going to have to be removed. I am so hurt and angry. I have gone through all of this for nothing. I have truely been misable for the last two weeks and to find out that it could have been prevented and now will have to be removed is heartbreaking.
