I had surgery this morning, and I am in severe pain. I cant keep the pain meds down. I have been walking and vomitting air. I cant get any relief. at first it was the horrible gas, now its just this dull pain at the top of my stomach. I cant get comfortable...will this pass??:)

You will feel better, we all went through that first bad day or two, it is Major Surgery and can not get past that one! Why are you throwing up the meds? Are they liquid? They should be, I had liquid loritab. Try melting an aspirin in water, it is pure and helps with my pain when I have any now. The stitches will be painful inside where the port is attached to your grisel inside for a few days, not severe tho, if you keep having pain and or are throwing up do call your Dr's office and report it. Best of Wishes here and prayers too!

First three days were bad for me too. Rest heal and stay put for a few days. Heating pad I also used. Small, small sips I ached all over it sucked. IT DOES GET BETTER just believe it will. Everyone is different and my healing time took about two weeks before I was feeling myself again.

It is less than a year for me and I have lost over 100 pounds. I feel great today. I am in Kansas City on vacation enjoying the best BBQ ever. Who would have thought!!! My year will be June 29. Oh and about three weeks after my banding I was running around Disney World and had more energy than some children there. It will get better Best wishes imaluckydog

This will pass, you are vomitting air, because of the gas that they had to put in you. I was told that there is a small amount of gas that must go in. That's why some will feel the bad gas pain or very bad bruping and some they say just do not.. I was one that felt it very badly could not stop bruping. But by day 2, I was back to mayself.. I would suggest that when ever you have to have pain meds or any meds that is bigger then a eraser on the back of a pencil, you can ask for liquid meds, or by a pill crusher. Feel better and stay in touch keep us posted on how you are doing. Congrats on your surgery.. ALL THE BEST...

I had my surgery on Friday, and I was feeling so great after surgery that I think I over did it. I was able to walk and go shopping the next day. I haven't had any pain on my incisions, but I do have a dull ache in my stomach. Sometimes it's there, sometimes not. I haven't taken any pain meds for about 24 hours though, so I think everything is getting better. I am so excited that I had this done. I am not hungry, and I am feeling great! I hope that I can get to my goal weight by next summer. I'm only thinking good things from here on out!
