ok so its been 4 months since i have had the lapband surgery. I have only had two fills to date and only down 30lbs, is that normal because I look at other people and i know we are all different but they are losing like 60 to 70 lbs and here i am with just 30. I mean im blessed i started a 294 and now im 263 so im blessed. My dr says im right on target but just wanted to hear from others if im over reacting or as i get more fills will it increase?

I think you should be very proud of your weightloss. I'm only 5 days post op, but i understand already how discouraging some things can be. It's hard not to compare ourselves to others. But everyone is going to lose the weight differently. Keep up the hard work! and congratulations!

My doctor said 5-10 pounds a month is normal and good. So you are right on target! He also said if you lose weight too fast you may also end up with some hair loss! Eek! It sounds like you are doing great! :) Congrats and keep it up!

You are doing GREAT niccolin03.. What I found out to be true is this, you have lost 30 pounds and you feel it should be more. BUT we run into somthing that is call a plateau. And before you know know it the scale will move more, then that plateau again. So do not feel down or think you are doing somthing wrong, you are not.. Loseing 30 pounds is big.. So Keep up all the great work you are doing and before you know you will be shareing with us how much more you are down in your weight lost.... CONGRATS!

Sounds good to me, I am not your Dr., but 11 months out and down 84, I too see others at my stage who have lost 125 lbs and think what am I doing wrong? Nothing, our bodies are different, different in metabolism, age, bone structure etc. I had some hair loss, not going bald or anything, but when I would shampoo in the shower more was coming out than normal about the sixth month, that has since stopped, but I am not losing the weight as fast now either, about 5 lbs per month average instead of 8 to 10. Don't rush it, you will really get bumbed, just enjoy that fact that 30 lbs are gone and they are NOT coming back!!!! Pat yourself on the back and continue the Journey. Congrats!

You are doing great. My doctor did the math and said I should lose about 120 lbs over 3 years so if I am expected to lose 40 lbs per year. Don't get into your head that you should be losing tons of weight quickly. If that was the case then you should have had gastric bypass. At least that is what my doctor told me. A loss is a loss no matter what or how much.

I was banded on 06/15/09 start weight 293. I was looking at my old post and at 4 months I was down 38lbs, so let me assure that your doing fine... so far I have lost 83lbs and am so grateful and happy!! I was like you at first comparing myself, but I stopped and I'm glad I did. I don't need the extra stress!! do YOUR best and the rest will follow. (I posted pics if you want to see the diff)
