better but at a stand still

Only 10 days out, I am at a stand still. I am finally feeling better from the left side pain, but I think all the pain caused no weight loss. I am only getting in about 800 calories each day, and haven't lost any since last Thursday. But I am still staying postive about this and know that the weight will all the sudden vanish during this liquid stage. My body is just getting accustomed to the band or rebelling a bit. But just like parenting, consistancy will pay off. So fat, watch out, I am getting rid of you no matter what!

Staying positive is all we can do. WE KNOW the weight will come off. Just have to follow the guidelines and let our body and the band do the rest. I am definitely getting hungry at times! I have been walking a lot and finally have been going to the bathroom. I am battling head hunger this week but I am succeeding. The hunger is like a contraction. It feels horrible and you don't think you can make it BUT then it passes and doesn't seem like it was so bad.

Hang in there SS, I am about a week ahead of you and that first week was sad related to weighing and the scale. Since then I've lost almost 20 lbs (in two weeks). Several things:

- get rid of the scale or move it somewhere where you won't be tempted to get on it more than once a week.

- walk when you can, and try gas x strips -- even if you feel like you don't have any more surgical gas you probably do and this will help!

- swelling was a big part of it. I'm still (3 weeks out) a little swollen. I seemed to retain water along with that, and when one went down the peeing went up! (LOL)

- you will totally get there! you have the motivation and the determination.

I think we mentally set ourselves up for early disappointment -- like we should get out of the surgery, drink only meal replacement and the weight just falls off. I think anyone on this site will say it really doesn't happen that way.

Take care of you; keep in touch.

Sandy

Hi all - I am about 2months post surgery and my 1st 10 days after surgery I lost a whopping 2 lbs... I was mad/confused/everything u can imagine...I even called my Dr's office saying I dont think the band is working lol... this is very normal in the beginning phase.. dont worry, ur not doing anything "wrong". Ur body needs time to adjust to this new foreign object in it. So keep being positive, keep walking to help alleviate the surgical gas pain, which I still had 3 weeks after surgery (god that was annoying). After you go for ur 1st adjustment weight will come off... I didnt start dropping a good amount (to me neway) until after my 2nd adjustment. My Dr said sometimes it will take 3 or 4 adjustments to "get it right" and thats when the weight will come off... Keep positive and make sure when you get to the solid food stage you eat - dont save calories.. eat a healthy well balanced diet - good luck on all of ur journeys and keep us posted!!!!! :)
