Why do people....

Why do people feel the need to tell others how they should live their lives?? That really bugs me. YES I knew going into this life changing event that I would have to change my eating habits, start exercising more often and so forth. I don't know about everyone else but if I could have controlled myself around food I would never have had this surgery. So YES...I still eat badly at times, who are you to tell me that I'm a bad person for that? Changing a habit that you've had for so many years isn't as easy as flipping on a light switch. There are days that I do very good and there are days when nothing will go down and I've thrown up a gazillion times and finally just sit down with some ice cream...WHY....because that's the choice I made. I love this web site and I love reading everyones success as well as their struggles because there are so many that I can relate to. I've lost 40lbs and am DAMN proud of that...maybe it hasn't come off as fast as I wanted but it came OFF not ON! So for those of you that want to get on here just to criticize others...maybe think twice before you hit that "post now" button....not all people are as perfect as you. THERE that's my RANT for today!!! Everyone keep up your hard work and go at your own pace...and feel good about your success.

This journey has been for me too a behavior modification journey and learning to listen to and do what my inner voice tells me is right, I don't always listen and tune out the inner voice and override the warnings! Sometimes I am successful at being bad and eating the things I have loved for years, and sometimes they go down and come back up. We are in a learning curve for the first year I think, and only trial and error will prove us, not what people say or do or think we should be doing, our body responds to us, I tend to do good for awhile, then fall off the wagon again and then get back on. So what, life is like a roller coaster ride, just hang on! 40 lbs is GONE and not coming back. I have had 10 months almost and lost 82 lbs so I am happy, not totally satisfied, but happy and going on! Good Luck to you and God Bless.

It's definitely a learning curve and no one is perfect, not even skinny people, but that's what a lifestyle means...'imperfection'. Hang in there!

I noticed on some of the response to these blogs that the "Superwomen" out there forget to put their "grace" cape on for the day. Please know that there are MANY more people that feel the way you do about this journey than the critical, self-righteous others. I for one, am right along with you. I would never have gotten this procedure if I could control my eating to begin with! It sure would have saved me a hellavalot of money (10k out of pocket). I hope you know that your blogs are important to me! I need to know that there are others out there that are experiencing the same emotions and behaviors that I am going through right now. I am following you dear! Keep up the exceptional work!

I hear ya, sister! Sometimes I just need my Hagendaas. I have some very skinny friends and they eat ice cream too. In fact, I eat WAY better than most of them. Good for those who can eat perfectly all the time. Truly! Kudos! For the rest of us...we can lift each other up and keep each other going. Sometimes the "superwomen" as Butterfly called them are inspiring and sometimes they are annoying. :) I really think it depends more on OUR mood.

Just keep on YOUR journey and you will do just great!

Keep a positive mind and ignore those with negative thoughts. Your on the right track, as I am similar. Each person has there own pace and schedule and it looks like your doing GREAT. I am right behind you as I too am nearly at the 40 # loss mark-maybe a few more weeks but that's ok. Congrats on your loss that is fantastic!! Stay focused on your life style and be patient, we will all be at our goals soon because we are lapbandsters. I ignore anyone with neg thoghts. Good Luck Ken
