I was banded February 18, 2010. Went back to work in a week. Had my first fill 3cc's on April 8, 2010. Had my second fill on May 28, 2010 2.5cc's. Day 4 after my second fill I got stuck this was my first realization that the band was going to benefit me. I have 5.5cc's and finally have some restriction. I have been measuring my food out 1 cup no more no less and I am currently unable to finish it. I wouldn't say that I had given up on my band but was beginning to wonder if I had made the right decision because I was set on having the full gastric bypass. I know that I may need additional adjustments as time passes but for now I am satisfied with 5.5cc's.

So with the fill you are able to almost eat 1 cup of food? What has your Dr. told you to eat?

My Dr's dietitian are telling me not to eat more than 2 ounces at each meal, which I think is insane.

THIS GIVES ME HOPE.... IT HAS BEEN 8 MONTHS AND I HAVE 6.6 CC . sTILL NO RESTRICTION ;-(

i HAVE LOST 40LBS MUCH LESS THAN WHAT I THOUGHT I WOULD. MY ORIGINAL GOAL WAS TO BE DOWN 80LBS IN 12 MONTHS. NOW I AM CHANGING IT TO 60LB.

I HOPE MY NEXT FILL WILL GET ME CLOSER THE THE "SWEET SPOT"

KEEP IT UP!

i CAN EAT WELL OVER 1 CUP OF FOOD.

I am right there with you Gorda123. I was banded March 31st 2010. I was about 280lbs on the day of my surgery, loosing 20lbs, during my 2 week liquid diet. I am currently @ 265.

I have a 10CC band, and my first fill was 3CC and my second only .5CC

its frustrating to me since I feel like I can eat anything and I have noooooo restriction at all. Feels like I am doing this with only will power and dieting, which I couldve done without the band. I have days where I wonder if the band was the right thing to do. But then I look @ peoples stories and just keep telling myself I will EVENTUALLY hit my "sweet spot" Im just hoping sooner than later. I am scheduled for my 3rd fill June 28th, so hopefully they give me a little more and I can experience even a little restriction. : )

I am able to almost eat one cup depending on what it is. I am not able to eat bread at all without getting stuck and lunch meat bothers me a little as well. I was told my my dietitian to measure out 1 cup of food and eat what I can and if I am hungry before my next meal finish what I was unable to finish at meal time (if it is something that can be reheated). 2 ounces of food is not enough unless you are less than 6 weeks post op.

My starting weight was 389. I am down to 329 as of my last appointment. After surgery and my first fill I had no restriction and was hungry within about 2 hours. I went into my second fill and asked for as much as possible. Now I am barely hungry at about 5 hours.

Micaela only .5cc's at your second fill does not seem like much, I have heard that usually half of the first fill is attempted at your second fill if you are hungry. After your fill did you feel tightness for a few days and does your doctor use fluroscopy?
