So I got banded on March 30th.:)..I was 321 when I started the process. I lost 7 pounds before the surgery. On my surgery day i was 314. I lost a whooping 16 pounds in two weeks bringing me to 298...I was so excited...and so was my surgeon...my next follow up was may 6. i was suppose to stay on purees during that month...needless to say...i cheated and i cheated bad...not in what i ate..but the fact that i began to have solids once a day after only 2 weeks of being on purees. When i went to the doctor a month later...i was only 4 pounds lighter...bringing me to 294..my surgeon was Furious!!! mad.gifI told him what i did and he went into a fit...he said i could have flipped my band...i could have hurt myself and that he was disappointed ...im thinking to myself...damn...but i lost a total of 20 :thumbup:pounds since my surgery...he was not satisfied...i was depressed..:rolleyes2: i know i could have done better but i was proud of myself...i couldnt lose 22 pounds in years...and I lost it in a month...so my next appointment is may 27th..im now down to 288...i have lost 6 pounds in two weeks. I hope I can be at 10 pounds lost by the time i see him again. confused.gif

so what have i been doing...well i count calories(800-950 a day)...i walk two miles 3-4 times a week, and i try not to overeat...i have no restriction right now so it is very hard!!!! I can eat everything and anything...so im looking forward to my first fill.

Juicy don't beat yourself up too bad!! I think your surgeon was upset because you were suppose to be "healing" during this time. As you said you were "cheating" but not with bad foods. The first month is very hard on everyone and it is very hard on the brain to remember that your body needs the time to heal when it is telling you to feed me. You are doing great!! Keep smiling!!!

Don't beat yourself up. Every doc is different and honestly if flipping the band was that high risk then there would be a precise set rules that ALL people who have this surgery would have to follow. I have seen some that are already allowed solids after just a few weeks. I can have solids in 3 weeks and I was banded last week. If you are looking for the "chew" factor try pickle relish. You get crunch but it is already processed up in small peices for you. Geez 4 lbs is still a loss and every loss should be celebrated!! I was 314 on surgery day too. I am down 7.2 and I was banded one week ago. You are doing great!!

I was told to go onto solids after my first post op visit, a little over a week after surgery. Every doctor and patient are different. Before the first fill is the hardest time in this process. You're doing well to lose weight at all, some people gain at this point. Just keep plugging away. The fills will help and, if your doctor flips again, find a new one.
