Well, I formally move onto less mushy foods today. Terrified! So much so that I am still eating the same things I ate on the last phase (yogurt, baby food, cream of wheat). I am afraid to open the flood gates. I had some peanut butter on a spoon, ate it slow, and boy did it stick like a ball of wax - not ready for that yet.

 

I received a notice of a "bandsters" mtg. in my general area and they are meeting at an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet restaurant! Isn't that like taking an alcoholic to a bar for a meeting? Aren't places like that what got us in trouble in the first place? Definately will NOT be going to those meetings. Trying to motivate myself to get back to exercising. I used to go to a strenuous boot camp 5 mornings a week. Would like to do that again - maybe 3 days and get back into running. A little too soon I think as I still have pain in my left side like a running cramp - start with walking I guess. Fingers are crossed!!!:smile:

Don't be afraid to move back to regular foods... this whole thing is about giving you the tools to lose the weight but restricting the amount you can eat. Not to say that you can't over eat, but it'll be alot harder for you to do so.

And I have NO clue who planned that "bandsters meeting" but that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of? Where do the do that at?!?!!?!? lol Buffet?? Are they all getting the kids price? what in the world is going on there?!?!?! lol

But back to you, scrambled eggs are a great gateway food. I do a santa barbara scramble with tomato, avocado, turkey sausage and cheese and sometimes a lil' bermuda onion.. but it's what I eat most days and I'm just a few days shy of 5 months post op. Although I have eaten steak, burgers, etc.. I eat all of the same foods just ALOT less of them. Best thing I could have ever done for myself and the scrambled eggs are a God send to me! :cursing: hope that helps!

Yes, I think the meeting place is odd as well. It sure would give you strength, Just to know you can walk into a place that may have been a trigger and leave all the food for everyone else. That food will NOT make you feel good at all. I had just a little bit of it yesterday and I can tell you first hand they cook with way to much salt and sugar for our needs I felt sick all day and I only had 5 bites. Support groups are excellent. I highly recommend them. Best wishes imaluckydog

Thanks for all your comments, really helps. Now if I could just get rid of this most annoying persistent cramp in my left side I would be able to get exercising again. Any idea how long it lasts and what it is caused from? Cheers
