Hey Everyone,

Wow can't believe surgery is one week from tomorrow. This is going to be one VERY long week!!!! I am so ready to get this done. I had so many doubts at first and now thanks to many of the posts I have read I feel more and more ready each day. I am so thankful for all of you being willing to answer all of our questions and sharing your experiences. It really helps a lot. What would you all say was the hardest part for you right after surgery and do you have any suggestions of how to deal with now that you have been through it?

Thanks,

Lisa

Reaching for the toilet tissue! Seriously, use this week to nest and get ready for the time you will convalese at home. Get things within reach, get a small pillow to place on the port incision to help you when you get up and down and cough. Wear gowns, they are easier to pull up than to pull down pj's. Just a few that I can remember. You will be sore around the Port area, cause that is where the stitches are inside. Give it a few days, and make sure you have Gas~X for the gas pains. Walk around the house inside to help relieve and get rid of the gas from the surgery, give yourself a few days and baby yourself some, take all the help you can get too. In a few days you will be up and at it again, believe me. Don't try to be Superwoman this time~ milk it! LOL Best Luck and Welcome to the Bandsters!

I was banded 1 week ago and think Janet covered it all. My husband stayed home with me for a few days and I loved the TLC. Chap Stick was also a help. Good luck on your journey - you'll do great!

Ok It might be that I am a blonde, but it was not until my 2nd car ride that I figured out if you apply slight preassure to the pillow on your stomach it really helps escpecially going over bumps. I just thought people suggested it to keep seatbelt from rubbing my tummy.
