Hello everybody, I am new to this site but have been reading a good deal of the posts over the last few days. I was banded on April 28th 2010, I am day 4 post surgery. I have been following my fluid diet and will continue to follow the guidelines set out by the clinic I went to. Does anybody know how long bloating will last? I'm up a few pounds from my start weight. Also, when I can expect to see some weight loss if following guidelines well? Thanks so much.

Well my average weight loss per week has been 2.65#s since Jan 2010. You can estimate about 2 pounds a week loss, but if you do alot of extra things like work out, and follow the diet plan you may loose more. Immediately following a "Fill" one tends to loose about 5#s then it tappers off to 2. This has been my path of weight loss, yours may be different depending on how active you are. I am not too active but concentrate on loosing at least two pounds a week. Rem when fat turns to muscle, you may not see a weight loss, just a constant weight for a few days, then all of a sudden it starts to drop. Good luck

Hi and welcome! You will find that each person here is different and eat different, exercise different, that is what makes this site so nice and why we all are addicted to it! LOL You will average about 8 to 10 lbs a month if you add exercise to your plan, and you will TONE and your skin will go back into place well, I suggest you get up and get movin, build the muscle tone and muscle combats fat to keep you from gaining the fat back it increases the metabolism, which was my problem before when I weighed 272! Now I have lost 82 lbs in 8 months. Down from a size 24W to a 14 and 12 regular, top is different from the bottom. Have only lost 3 inches in the boobs, 22 from the hips! Just hang on for the ride, your life will change and if you do follow the plan you will love the results.

Thanks to both of you for your great feedback. When I posted my comment I was unsure how to navigate site so missed these great posts. I have always been active but more so around the house, yardwork. proportionate eating was more my trouble. I'm really enjoying this site and all the friendly comments I've seen. thanks again.

Thank you everyone for your posts, my doctor failed to warn me about the bloating. I'm 2 days post-op and feel better and less scared after reading your blogs. Thank you!
