I was banded on 12/30/09, and have had 3 fills. I have a 10cc band. 1st fill, 3.4cc, 2nd fill 5cc, 3rd fill 5.8cc. I have restriction for a couple weeks, but not for an entire month. I'm getting kind of worried that I dont have far to go to be at my max fill. Is this normal? At about how many cc's should it take for me too feel real restriction without having to get more fills. My highest weight was 321 pre-op, I was 312 on the day of surgery, today i'm at 289. I feel im loosing very slow compared to other posts I read.

I was banded on 12-29-10 and have had three fills also. My first was 2cc's, the next time I went I had lost everything so they put in 2cc's again. The next time I had lost 1cc so they put it back to 2.8cc's. I can barely feel anything right off and by the time a week or two goes by I don't feel like I have any retriction at all. I have only lost 18 pds since surgury and all that but 4 pds was the post surgery loss. I was supposed to go Monday but have a bad sinus infection and it's a 5 hour drive to get there. Wasn't up for it. I am frustrated too and wondered if this was normal. I feel like I'm going backward because I can eat just about anything and too much.

My situation was like yours, but my fills since my surgery in Jan 2010 has been at 2 wk intervals and now my 4th coming this Sat at over a month and a half. I waited purposely to see if I could loose on my own. I was at a constant weight without any loss but only with a pound gain or so. Just this past week my weight loss stepped automatically in the high mode again, with me losing about 3 to 4 pounds this week. My loss per week since Jan is about 2.65 pounds a week. Everytime I went for a fill, I knew I needed it cause my eating habits changed, as I was getting hungry more. I get the hungar syndrome now but I am controlling it. Drink water and go out to the store and walk around for an hour. I am not a persistant exerciser but will eventually pick up the pace this week and after I get my 4th fill. I have lost 33 pounds since my surgery and feel great about it. I am looking forward to the 4th fill which would bring my total amount to 8 cc's in a 10 cc band. My intervals was 2 cc's per visit on all my previous fills. I too travel about 4.5 to 5 hours to my doctor's location in Seoul Korea. Ride the bus for 3.5 hours, a train for about 30 min and a 20 minute walk, for a 20 to 30 min appointment, then back again. I do not dread this time as it is R and R time from the daily hassles of work. Anyway I feel great and after reading several other lapbandster's stories, the 4th fill may be my glory fill. My goal is to loose 100 #s by Jan 2011. You can check my progress any time as I posted them. Lately I have felt I had little restriction but I challenged myself, it's there believe me, I purposely over indulged and guess what, I had to stop eating. The band is there and it's working. Be patient and positive as the average weight loss per week will be about 2 #s. Some will have more and some less. Stay strong and enjoy your journey like I am.

Thank you for the encouragement. Guess I'm just worrying that I will run out of fill room before I reach my "glory spot", but will go back to the doctor in a couple weeks for my 4th fill and hopefully that will be the last, at least for a while.

Im asking the same questions... I have had 3 fill and i am at 5.6 CC and still have no restrction...my next fill is in MAy and since the last fill i have only lost 3 lbs. I am working out and keeping my calorie intake bellow 1300 with high protein.

I also have a 10Cc band and i am scare that i will get to the max.

I guess we need to take it slow and it will happen. After all it took me 10 years to gain 100lbs, why should i expect the weight to fall off in 7 months.

good luck

Restriction can sort of sneak up on you, I went from fills that gave me a little restriction for a week or two to my third which has kicked my behind for about 5 weeks now. I figured I had a couple more before I got to this point but, SURPRISE! My doc said to expect 4-6 fills before I really had good restriction and his nurse has told me the last 2-3 cc before the band is maxed are a good place for many people....don't fret too much, you're getting closer!
