Hi, Im just about to sign up to get the lap band done. I have struggled with my weight pretty much all my life and am fed up, i dont want to go through my twenties feeling like this- i want to live my life!!

Anyway I want to know from people who have had it done, how successful was it for you? Are you really full up..or are you still hungry when you have it done? Does it stop you from feeling sooo hungry?

I guess im still a bit skeptic!

Would love to have some feedback ! Thanks...also Im in Dubai so would like to know if anyone has had this done through Roger Batrouni???

Yes it works if you follow the plan.I lost 125 lbs in 13 months and 2 weeks, but I had an enormous amount to lose. The more you have to lose the faster you lose and then when you reach a certain point everything slows down tremendously but you still lose, and of course as in any weight loss you hit plateaus along the way,you just have to stick it out.

Good luck on your journey of a life time. You won't be sorry.

working for me. Just having the band in place with no fills reduced my hunger. Learn as much as you can and make sure you have the best Dr's. Still will take work on your part though, not a quick fix.

thanks sooo much for getting back to me. i dont want a quick fix at all, im certainyl going to put in the effort just wanted to know how others have felt on it :w00t:

what happens if u eat too much on it, does it make u sick..or just literally dont want to eat too much because your soo full?

sorry probably sound like really silly questions but im so new to this i just think its better asking people who have had it done rather than the doctors because i want to know the TRUTH lol

lol girl i was the same way, don't worry! If you eat to much, for me at least, you literally wont be able to swallow. And if you eat something too fast it will feel stuck and you will have to vomit it back up. Its like an instant reaction. If you stop when you are full then you are great. And the full feeling lasts way longer then it would without the band. It is really amazing! I love it! It was the best thing I have done for myself. :w00t: Hope this helps!

Pretty much like mentioned above, but to restate it: you loose some #s, then you may have a plateau and stay constant for about a week then it starts to drop again slowly, about 2.64 #s a week for me. Some weeks I loose 4 to 5 but on average for 12 weeks now it's 2.64 #s. When you eat the max and you get stuck, you pretty much bring it back up. Three times for me, but that's a sign too telling you that your full, stop eating. This week I have lost 2.2 #s but there may be more lost in a day or two. I weight myself daily and keep tabs on what I eat. The more active you are, walking will tend to be a plus. I walked for an hour in a store and lost. This weekend I am going to see my doc for my 4th Fill. I will have 8 cc's in a 10 cc band. I gradually got my Fills, monthly, except for this one, its been two months. I should have good restriction. This is what I want, as it will help me loose more quickly. I have lost 31 #s since 4 Jan 10. My goal is 100#s by Jan 2011. I just might reach my goal earlier this year, hope so. Feelings are great, more energy, dropping the sizes, and starting to buy new clothes-a great feeling. Self-Esteem is high and will be higher when my goal is reached. Glad I chose to be a lapbander.

Good luck, you wont regret it.

Yes Jessica the lap band really works. I was banded on Dec 30th 2009 and went from a size 16 - size 12 pants and have lost one shoe size. I can only eat 1/4 of what I was able to eat b4 the band. The Lap Band is not a miracle worker but a tool. It is good to change your eating habits. And make wise food choices. I wish you the best on your weight lost journey
