I was so excited over my initial weight loss of 12 lbs for my first 2.5 week check up. But since then, I have lost maybe 1/2 lb. I'm eating good, exercising and still no more loss. I have not had a fill yet but i feel that on my own, i've lost more. I drink a protein shake everyday for breakfast, Have veggies and chicken or fish for lunch, and pretty much the same for dinner. I started at 283 so surely i should be losing more with the little "bird" size servings I'm eating. my exercising is light, short walks and recently i've added swimming. True enough, I'm not breaking a sweat while exercising, but still, it's more than i was doing. HELP someone, point me in the right direction and help me with foods to eat to restart my system. I'm afraid my body is thinking it's ok to just eat that amount and not lose weight.

I am right there with you. My surgery was on the 21st of Feb and I have loast 12 pounds since then. I do the protein shake for breakfast and fish for lunch with a vege, for dinner I eat the same since I eat so little there is enough for multiple meals. I started working out 2 weeks ago and that is where the last 2 pounds came off. But since then, nada, 0, nothing! I work out for 30 minutes on an eliptical and I walk all day (outside job). Help anyone? I have my first fill tomorrow....

Just try to stay patient w/it. The same thing happened to me right after surgery. I lost 10 pounds right away and then nothing for a couple weeks. I don't know why it is, but the weightloss seems to come in spurts. The worst thing you can do during those stalls is to doubt yourself and the band and revert to bad habits. I'm guilty of it. And, it just makes the stalls last longer.

I also find I need to remind myself over and over to be kind and patient to myself. We are learning a new lifestyle and its not gonna happen overnight. Also, it typically takes 3-6 months to get the band adjusted to its optimal restriction. Its really unlike any other diet because w/every other diet, you get the most weightloss at the beginning. With the band, you get the most weightloss after you finally get it adjusted properly and that takes awhile. So, try not to focus on the scale too much. Look at this time as time to create and practice new habits and the lifestyle you want for the rest of your life. At least this is what I tell myself. It is an emotional journey. Hang in there!
