I was banded 1 week ago today. I have lost 23 pounds. My 10 day pre-op diet was a breeze because I found out about Muscle Milk . It is available at Target & is 45% protein. It keeps you amazingly full. My surgery went fine. I had it Thurs morning & went back to work on Tues. Everything is great. I was only on pain meds for a few days. 75% of the time, like today, I forgot I had stitches in my stomach. Since I teach 2nd grade, I have lots of distractions. Good Luck. I'm glad I did it.

Don't be scared (even though I was), because honestly it isn't bad at all! One minute you are awake and the next, you are out and it's all done! The healing process is fast and, at worst, a little uncomfortable. The band is amazing! You will love it, it works so fast and you are so satisfied from such small amounts. I love mine! I hope you do it, don't let your nerves gget the best of you.

it's ok to worry - this is a big, life-changing event for you! However, this is the best gift you can give yourself...you are giving yourself a new life, as a thinner, healthier woman. I was banded on 10/19/09 - and I have lost 60 lbs...I could never have lost that amount in 5 months without the band! I feel so much better - I go to the gym, I exercise, I am in a new size of clothing...but most of all, I can be with my family and not get tired out, not feel like I am holding them back, and I FEEL GREAT!

It's all going to be ok - one day at a time!

I freaked out when they called me with my surgery date. Unbelievable - when I had been bitching and moaning for months about how long it was taking to get the date. Anyway, I freaked out pretty good, I put them off for 2 weeks and then made up my mind and it has been nothing but good ever since. I have not regretted the decision for even 1 minute - I can honestly say it is the very best thing I have ever done for myself.

My wife scheduled me for my surgery, yes I had second thoughts the night prior but once there WHAMMO, all was quick and easy, execellent surgery and then came the wonderful weeks to follow to loose those unwanted pounds. Yes you will need to change your eating habits but it's for a great cause. The feelings are unbelieveable. One feels more energetic, self-esteem rises to all heights, and you loose the pounds and have a strong desire to try out smaller clothes. It's a fabulous experience and I am happy I elected to follow through. I am fortunate as I did not have any pre-dieting to do, I just met the doc, agreed to a date and then followed the instructions he provided up to the night prior--which was stop eating at 12 midnight. I had a steak dinner at 7 pm that night. Now it's been 2 months and 4 weeks and I am at 239 #s from 270 #s. There is nothing to be afraid of, as the fills are hardly felt, except the first one for me-like a bee stung me, hehehe. But the other two fills I had did not feel a thing, 5 minutes there and I was done. Sit back and relax and if you have a desire to finally shed some #s, this is the way to go. Once your weight goal is obtained then have the fluid taken out and enjoy life. I will do that and feel great about it. The end result is we will look great, and feel great. A NEW BEGINNING!!
