I was banded yesterday and when someone said they felt like a semi had run them over I now know what you meant. I only feel like the semi hit me and drug me along for awhile. Does anyone know when the pain will stop? Any helpful hints? I can't find a comfortable way to sit/lay anything, any suggestions? :rolleyes2:

The truth is time is what is going to relieve your pain. In the meantime don't try to be a superhero. If they gave you pain meds take them. You need not to be in pain in order to heal. My doctor had prescribed me tylenol with codeine (liquid) and it really helpful. Some people say holding a pillow to your stomach when you are getting up is helpful. What is hurting you soreness from the wounds or air from the anesthesia? I hope you get better soon.

I am probably one of the ones who said she felt like a semi hit her. It took me a good week to get to where I didnt need the pain killers.

What I did to help eleviate some of it was walking and for the gas pain in my back and shoulder, my guy rubbed and patted on my back (sorta like burping a baby).

Hope you get to feeling better real soon sweetie.

One week later, I felt better. But when you do feel better, dont overdo it! I took some gas medicine, that gave me some relief. Lynn is right, it just takes time, you just have to make it through everyday until then.

I hope you got an abdominal binder...I woke up from my surgery with one on. It makes a huge difference in pain because it kind of holds everything in so your gut doesnt schlump around. The one time I took it off to take a shower...wow, pain! You can get it at a drugstore...its just a big white elastc band sort of like a waist shaping garment but with velcro!Otherwise, its just time...good luck its totally worth it!

Thank you, I am 9 days out now and feeling pretty good. Just having some weird feeling in my chest when I drink anything, like I have a burp, but it takes several hours to go away....not sure what it is. Any ideas?

I take very very small sips, today it does not seem to be as bad. Hopefully it will only keep getting better. Thank you for your support.
