When I first started this journey I told everyone I was only going to weigh-in at my doc appts. I thought this way I would see the progress in the numbers. So, I waited until my 2 week appt to weigh. Then I waited until my 6th week appt to weigh again. But, then I bought a scale and said I would weigh in once a week (every monday). But, now I can't seem to stay off the damn thing! And I really really don't want to do that to myself! Plus I really think your body needs a full week to regulate to its weight loss and fluid gains and stuff, yet here I am weighing myself again when I just did on Monday. I NEED TO STOP!!!

How funny! Why? Because I too became obsessed with the scale. I have finally decided to put mine away and go back to my originial plan of just weighing in with my doctor. I'm going to use how I feel and my cloths as my indicator of success in between visits. Besides, our bodies are so strange...one day up, the next down...it's all just too much. :smile2:

Good luck!

you all are not alone. I used to stay on my daughter about weighing too often. Now she fusses at me. I literally weigh four or five times a day, pretty much every time I go to the bathroom. Yes it is crazy, yes it is way too much and NO I CANT STOP!!!lol It is just so hard not too I can tell you from 8th months of being banded that we can bounce back 4-5 pounds in one day easy. Once a week is much smarter...just cant do it.

I am a bit of a scale whore myself. I would say I weigh about 3 times a week on average, usually when my body feels different in terms of gaining or losing. But I would like to only weigh once a week and not base my mood on what the scale says, because it does fluctuate. Good luck to you.

I'm scheduled for lap band in April. You girls have convinced me..I'm throwing my scale in the garbage befoe I have my surgery. LOL! I don't need something ELSE to drive me crazy, and deep down inside I know I'd be like the person weighing after every bathroom break. :-)

I'm in the same boat. Weighing daily, wearing the same clothing (general, not exact) and at the same time. I get a little obsessive and the up and down 1-3 lbs in just a couple of days wreaks havoc with my mood. I am trying to break the habit and do it once a week but got on this morning AGAIN!

'toss your scales' Blasphemy!!! LOL I'm a Scale Whore and proud of it (I'm a once a day gal). It's like looking at your smile everyday after you brush your teeth...it's good to keep an eye on things before your gums start bleeding. Next meeting of SWA is 2/22...join us.

I am doing the same thing..how funny!! i get on the scale on monday morning ( but also on thurs )

I keep telling myself that what matters is how a feel and the inches that are melting off, but my head still want to see those #'s go down on the @$*&$% SCALE!!

And it doesnt help that i have to weigh myslef 3 times cuz my scale is a little wack and gives me 3 different #'s so i choose the %
