I had surgery exactly 2mos today! i'm down about 15lbs. I've only had 1 fill that was done in the beginning of Jan. I really dont feel any different and i am able to still eat whatever i want. i feel like i havent had surgery :bored:. i have been really watching what i eat and exercising about 5x a week. i still like i'm struggling with food because i'm always hungry. i contribute my 15lbs loss to all the exercising and dieting i'm doing. I am very afraid that i will get frustrated and just quit. i go in for a second fill on Feb. 9th i'll speak to my surgeon then to see if he can fill me up so that i can feel full sooner. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

We all did, or at least I think that Lap Band Surgery is designed that way. It will not be instant, not like the world we have lived in. I felt the same way you do, see my blogs, my first blog was identical to yours!!!!I am down 65 lbs now in six months. You will lose slower and you will be glad, your skin will have the time to go back into place with no wrinkling! Your body will tone too, so keep it up, and you will step on the scales one morning and be pleasantly surprised! Follow my new blog on blogspot.com TheGoldenDayz

Could be that with the all the exercising and dieting that you're not eating enough...so your body isn't really losing. Have you tracked your calorie intake?

@Janet thanks for the advice. everyone is telling me the same thing the slower the better. i joined this group bc i really need to stay focused and motivated. its frustrating because i did go through the surgery and really dont feel different. i know i have to be patient it also doesnt help me at all that i am obsessed with the scale. i know i should stay away from it but can't. i even told my hubby to hide from me lol. really obsessed im on it about 6 times a day.

@ymjackson i think i eat enough just really staying away from all the junk and rice. rice is my downfall i used to eat it everyday, now I'm down to once a week. that's a challenge! i don't track my calorie in take i know i should.

I just really don't want to feel like having surgery was just a waste of time. hopefully next week when i go in for my second fill i will feel a lot better. thanks for listening girls!

Diana, I am right there with you girl! I was banded on 12/17 and sometimes wonder if it really happened. I've had one small fill and go back on 2/12. I weigh and mesure everything I eat but still feel like I could pack it in. I dont' - which is good - but am ready to feel that "full" that everyone talks about.

I have officially put my scale away. I had never owned a scale before, but all my girlfriends insisted that I get one. I have done nothing but obsess over it. It's up...it's down...UGH! I'm just trying to stay focused on how I feel and how my cloths feel...which by the way are beginning to hang on me. That's what I will cling to...not the number.

BTW...congrats on the 15lbs. That's awesome! That's 60 sticks of butter...just to give you a visual. :smile2:

Hello Diana, everyone loses at a different pace. I got banded on Feb 12th 2009. My Aunt 1 week after me..She lost like 95 lbs in less than 6 months. It was hard because mine was very slow. I have lost 80lbs but it has taken me 1 year. It tooks 3 to 4 fills before I really felt a difference. I am glad I took it slow. You kinda slide into a new life and a new way of thinking. Keep your chin up . You will get there.
