You use the phrase "that being said."

it infuriates me, it is SOOO annoying!!!!!

I will read a post up until that line, after that I figure this person has nothing original or worth while to say.

HAHA sorry i might just be cranky cause I'm sick, but I also can't stand when people say "DH"

I will never say that. It is so ewwwwww!!!

I'm sure there are more, but those two just KILL me!!!:bored:

Interesting that the use of proper english annoys you. That being said, I'm sure that most of the people who use it (like myself) probably aren't going to be too upset if you stop reading our posts or blogs lol. But "YAY!" for venting about random stuff! :smile2:

Interesting. As an English teacher, I cringe at misspellings and poor grammar. I would welcome a "that being said" over "tuday Im rely nervouse"...I just cannot read on.

The DH crap annoys me, too, though.

proper english doesn't annoy me, trite phrases that are not welcomed on my personal blog do, however.

Yeah, it's gross. I told my husband about it and he cringed!

Ew I'm embarrassed to even say. It means "dear husband" or some variation. As if to say, "I went to the store with DH." EWWW

I force myself to refrain from commenting when I see bad grammar and spelling. I try to remember that not everyone has the same level of education or even level of caring about such things. That being said (Ha! Couldn't resist.), I still can't help thinking people who don't know the difference between where, were and wear should be taken out and shot. Don't get me started on your and you're or I could go on for hours.

As for the web abbreviations like DH, TOM, PB and DS I think they are just part of the community culture of websites like this. When I did IVF (which IS a standard medical abbreviation), I was lost for ages trying to figure out what all the lingo meant. I choose not to use the group shorthand, except PB because I like that it looks like I'm talking about peanut butter but means something very different.

Vive la crankiness! Rock on, sister.
